Anyone know of a decent hotel in or around Shimoda? (Izu) For a family of 4. Shimoda Prince Hotel is in the area I want, but I cannot find a webpage for that particular hotel. Can anyone help and/or recommend where to stay in Shimoda on a budget? No ryokan! Arigatou!

Hello, flying home from Japan for the summer via Taipei. Arrive at 6pm and leave the next afternoon at 2pm. I want to hit a night market, then just cruise around the city on foot a bit with a few stops for beers along the way. Would like to know what people think is the best plan of action? Should I head into the main train station by bus and then go from there? Are there any night markets close to there? Any information would help. Thanks.

Why is it that a lot of the showers in NYC apartments have the showerheads placed against the opposite wall than usual showerheads? I mean they're not placed at the end of the tub, they're right in the middle of the tub, along the wrong wall so you can barely move when you bathe.
