Sri Lanka is divided into 9 provinces and subdivided into 25 districts.
Each province is administered by a directly-elected provincial council.
The provinces are (capitals in parentheses):
1] Central (Kandy)
2] North Central (Anuradhapura)
3] North (Jaffna)
4] Eastern (Trincomalee)
5] North Western (Kurunegala)
6] Southern (Galle)
7] Uva (Badulla)
8] Sabaragamuwa (Ratnapura)
9] Western (Colombo)
