It takes between 1-1/2 to 2 hours by train depending on how many stops they make along the way. Check the website raileurope to see what works best for you. There is plenty of skiing in both of those areas but you will need to get away from the cities to do it. There are buses that will take you into the Alps where the skiing is fantastic from both Munich and Salzburg.
Enjoy your trip! It's a beautiful area to visit.

First try www.bahn.de
You can see the timetable and the fares.

Skiing is bad this year due to less snow. I would prefer OBERTAUERN. You can take a bus or shuttle from Salzburg. I think its about 30 €€. Obertauern is a snowhole. Try the website www.obertauern.com. Some hotels have a own shuttleservice to Salzburg. In Germany its no good skiing at that time. Sorry!

Flying: 1 hour, driving 2 hours, I guess with train 1,5 hours.

i think of of you're arranged to desire to take a weekend practice for cheep. i think of of there are buses too yet practice is in all risk the proper. while you're a resident you're able to oftentimes get sturdy costs on the weekends. i think of of the practice is going from Stuttgart to Munich and then to Salzburg. Ask on the practice station it truly is in all risk the proper.

It also depends on the type of train you are taking, RB, ICE, IC, or EC. It shouldn't take more than 2 hours or so.
