Well, ive been in jail there, in Nuevo Laredo and Tijuana, both times, i had to give my whole bank account to get out. It was filfthy and cold as hell, and they didnt feed me but one chicken drumstick the whole two days in both facilities, i imagine prison is the same!

I moved to El Paso, Texas when I was 12 and left when I was 23. My friends and I used to party a lot in Juarez, Mexico a lot. Time and time again, some of our friends would end up in jail there. It was BAD. Your family has to bring you food, or else you don't eat. If they feel bad enough, they may give you a stale piece of bread, but don't count on it. The judicial system is slow and everyone can be bribed. Your best shot is to offer up some cash when you first encounter the police; at least a hundred or so, depending on the crime committed.

Ah, crazy times.

it must be awful. i went to mexico like 4 months ago, the heart of mexico. not a tourist place like canccuun. and well, the water is the worst. you really have to have a iron gut to stomach it. that is IF you are even allowed to drink it. i mean, also, the family i stayed with wanted us to not use too much water. so we'd have to use small amounts of water to bathe, and then like don't flush every time you know. and the food of course, is differant there. No guidelines for the quality of food. and the way some of the food is prepared there would really gross you out. and the prison, i would imagine are made of concrete and probably old. well concrete buildings can just tumble down one day. and who knows what the guidelines for cleanliness in a prison is. JUST SUCKY.

First go to a Mexian/Hispanic neighborhood. Take a good look at how its all run down, trash on the ground, stray dogs running around, trash uncovered, dirt instead of grass lawns, screens ripped out of windows and old furniture left to rot outside.

Then take a good smell! O.K. now amp that up to 50 times worse and walla, its a Mexican prison.

Mexican prison is not harsh. Just have a few hundred bucks to get out. It's so corrupt down there.
And I'm not being racist, I'm Mexican. My American friend who was visiting told me he commited a felony (he wouldn't tell me what exactly) but he paid the cop $300 and everything was fine.
In Mexico we got MORDIDAS and MULTAS.
