I'm not in any sports but I do need more exercise. A lot of times, I find myself avoiding walking because I don't have proper shoes. I live in the country with a LOT of beautiful places to walk and even hike (which I LOVE to do) but I need something that will keep my feet and ankles supported and something with a LOT more protection than my fav shoes, flipflops.

My problem is that I have wide feet and I can't find very many shoes in any style that fit. Payless has consistently good prices and has more wides than I can ever find elsewhere but their athletic shoes aren't very serious.

I am willing to pay more for the right shoes but then I get to the dept or sports store and I get discouraged because they are so UGLY and none of them fit.

If it's going to be ugly anyway, I would rather it just be white. And they need to FIT my FAT FOOT.

There was a guy who said running/jogging will help you live long, then he died while running. I know he was in his early 50's when he died. This took place in the 70's.

So im signed up for the chi town marathon, which is 2 months and i day away, and i had a really scarey moment today. I completed a triathlon, and didnt do so hot. I havent been training nearly as much since i just got my license (im 16) .Ive done some hilly 15k's this summer and a half marathon, and am confident I can do them again in the shape i am in now, but i only have 2 months of training time left for the marathon, does anyone with experience think that is sufficent time to get ready?

I just started "running"/"training" for my very first 5K ever this past monday. I am wondering if anyone has some tips for me. I'm a slow runner and have never done this in my life so its all new to me. I got a pair of running shoes that fit well but could use an advice or instruction more seasoned runners may have for me. My first 5K is in 6 weeks.

What's the problem?

each time after about 5 minutes running my left tibialis anterior hurts so bad i have to walk at times. everything so far is good with the right leg. sometimes the pain is not that bad after about 30min, but then at minute 40-50 i have to stop and walk my way back. This is because at this point the tibialis anterior is hurting bad again plus the right leg hurts where the tibia and the fibula meet below the knee on the exterior side. What can i do????????

I was always a runner but i stopped running for about a year and a half, enough for my muscles to downsize from being badass to giggley. On the 28th of July, my calf muscles and quads were mush and after running a few miles with my boyfriend's sister on the 29th, my calf muscles and quads are already getting deep cuts like i used to have. What gives? I don't use any enhancers and my hormones are perfectly balanced.

I enjoy running and run 6-8 km 3 times per week. I weight about 260 pounds and am 6'2 in height. Will running that distance make my thighs/legs larger? Cos' I'd like to slim down instead of gaining more muscle weight.. just want to burn the fat...

I run 6 KM distance 2-3 times during the week and want to increase it to 8 km. I usualy run at 10:30 PM before going to bed.. Is this healthy? (Or could it be harmful for the heart, to run and go to sleep after shower...)
