Youre in the same position as me, well except im a guy. There are always people to worry about, in any town. I did many night runs, but always carried a phone, pepper spray, and never ran in poor lit areas. Run a search of sex predators to see if you live near any, never run near there. Mix up your time, you don't want to be in the same place, same time, everday .Stay in the light, do your best to run in the day, try and a get a partner, if not let people know when and how long you expect to be, call if your plans change during the run. If you ever do feel threatened, dont hesitate to call the police, better calling in a false alarm than getting into trouble,

It depends on where and when you want to run. If it is at night, NO it is not safe. It is not safe for anyone to go out alone at night, not matter what age you are. If it is on a busy road, no it is not safe no matter what time of day it is. If you are going to run on residential streets during the day, it is probably safe, but always tell some one where you are going to go running. Don't go alone into areas that don't have a lot of people either, such as the woods or a rarely used park.

It may be an infatuation thing OR nothing and she just might be finding you just cute and smart according to your own age. But keep out of her way as much as possible. It will ruin two relationships at once. Your brother will feel offended and if she can ditch a 6 year old strady bf for his brother, there is no guarantee she will have her eyes only for you. Try to keep to yourself when she is around or tell her in a seriopus, gentle but firm tone that you feel uncomfortable with her frank behaviour though you know that she only means to be friendly and that she should give you some time so that you can come out of your teenage shell and then perhaps you will be able to talk with her more freely.

cary your phone and dont travel too far from your house, im 15 and i live in the suburbs outside of a major sity where there is a lot of crime and i always feel safe
also my grandma lives in rural ohio and i run there too, if you know you neighbors and dont go into any strage areas, you shoudl be fine
go runing with a friend, you feel safer and i like talking more than lisitng to music
i love that there are other kids my age that like to run, people at my school us make fun of us and call us "trackies" and we are the wimps in the sports, but i find it funny that we can all run laps around the big tough football players
hope this helped

The safest thing is for you to take the right precautions FIRST.
1. Don't run at the same time every day
2. Don't run the same route every day
3. Have someone run with you or follow you on a bike
4. Carry a cell phone
5. Tell your parents the exact route you will run every time you go out
Good Luck

I would ask parents first. Maybe ok during the day, no place is 100% safe. If you go, be sure to let your parents know your route and don't go off course, but switch the times and route daily.

No, where do you think creepy people go once they get busted in the city?
If somebody knows exactly when and where (exact route & exact time!)your going! It would help if you knew some self-defense and carried some pepper spray!
Don't want to scare you but I don't want to see your picture plaster all over the TV!

I bet you can. When I go running I carry a small bottle of pepper spray with me just in case.

It depends on the neighborhood. If it's a rural town, I would say no.
