So im signed up for the chi town marathon, which is 2 months and i day away, and i had a really scarey moment today. I completed a triathlon, and didnt do so hot. I havent been training nearly as much since i just got my license (im 16) .Ive done some hilly 15k's this summer and a half marathon, and am confident I can do them again in the shape i am in now, but i only have 2 months of training time left for the marathon, does anyone with experience think that is sufficent time to get ready?

definitely. all you need to recover is two to three straight days of a very hard tempo run (where you push yourself as fast as you can go for around 5 miles). this will help you recover what you lost very quickly.

Nope. If you are superman and expect to get in the 18 & 20-milers plus the daily training, ALL without injury or illness, then maybe you can.

Problem is you've created this dilemma for yourself that compels you to try it. The reality is that a M is as much mental as it is physical. And extremely harder than a half-M. You gotta train your brain too. And if you get injured, then you wind up disappointed.

If you were asking my advice, I'd say find a M 6 months down the road and train sensibly.

Good Luck
