There was a guy who said running/jogging will help you live long, then he died while running. I know he was in his early 50's when he died. This took place in the 70's.

It was Jim Fixx, author of "The Complete Book of Running"
He died in 1984 at the age of 52. He was an obese smoker when he began running at age 35. His father died at 42 of heart disease. It is likely that running prolonged his life.

Yeah it was Jim Fixx. But don't accept remote facts that are not in proper context. It has been widely reported that Jim Fixx had tell-tale symptoms but never went to the doctor to have them checked out.

In fact, there is medical literature that indicates a physically fit person can recover from a heart occurrence quicker than someone who is not physically fit. No where have I seen anything that says running will PREVENT anything.

So the same facts remain as before you knew this information. Always get a yearly checkup with the doctor, no matter what your lifestyle is...

Good Luck
