I have to run the mile at school every other week and I always get a cramp in my stomach, and sometimes my arches on my feet. Any suggestions? please

Are you eating around that time? If so, that could explain the stomach cramping. Or if you do it with no food in your stomach. As far as the arches, you may want to get some gel arch supports, or tennis shoes that are specifically geared for running.

Try to keep your running smooth I controlled. Focus on your posture. Don't try to stay ahead of the others, try staying well ahead of the rear but otherwise don't mind placement or speed. Take your time.

Controll your breathing. Smooth, controlled, in through the nose, out the mouth.

Try to see the doc & have him check if your arches are too high or if you have flat feet. ;-) Let him know the deal & see if he can suggest a type of foot support insert for your shoes.

Keep at it & try not to show off too much ;-)

r u fat? overweight? lazy? out of shape? havent excercised in a while?

all of these means that ur body isnt used to stress on ur heart or other organs. this is normal and fine, but instead of running a mile every other week, run a mile every week and you will be the fastest in ur class ;) (like me lol) and u wont get cramps anymore. this happened to me at the beginning of the school year but i did the things im telling u to do and it worked! u dont even have to run just excercise and lay off the video games, computer or books because books suck! lol jk

breath in through your nose and out with your mouth when running, tape the arches of your feet up before you go running (it may hurt for the first couple of times you do it)

hope i helped:)

Get running shoes. Maybe eat more fruits and veggies. Also drink enough water.

Wouldn't hurt to see a Podiatrist about your feet.
