i hate running...but i play college soccer. every year at preseason camp we have to run 2 miles in 14 minutes. i never make the time but i am in great shape when it comes to sprints, i beat every one, every time and the same goes for during games. this year i want to make the time but i have to run it on the 17th of august. i ran it in 16 minutes today. what can i do to shave 2 minutes off of my time with 3 weeks to go?!

thank you in advance.

Take the next 2 weeks and work on running up to 4 miles. Try running a 3-miler this week and a 4 miler next week with some easy jogs in between. Take off 2 days from running before your time trial.

For the time trial itself, go out slow and then 'pick off' the rabbits. From the sounds of it, you were probably one of the rabbits that would take off at the start and lose steam in the later half of the race...hold back for the first 1/4 mile, then turn it on. Best of luck!

Unlike most people it sounds like you have enough speed. Continue to do some speed work, but run a distance of at least 3 miles (5 would be better) a couple times a week. When you run the 2 miles you want it to seem short.

Start running longer distances...u r running the minimum...start running an extra mile...start pacing yourself.....if you stop...stop for only a short time...it should only be 10 seconds...any longer...it messes you up when yoiu start again....and you may think you are in shape....but 2 miles in 14 minutes is not that hard to run...just focus practicing on longer distances and it will be easier later when you only have to run 2...

the units of the numbers in physics could be mathematically dealt with as though they *have been* numbers. 2.0 m/s² potential 2.0 x meters divided via s² as a manner to transform to mi/h² substitute for "m" the style of meters in a mile = a million.609E3 and substitute for "s" the style of seconds in an hour = 3600 s, then sq. it. so then U get: 2.0 x a million.609E3 divided via (3600)² = 3.218E3/13.0E6 = 2.48E-4 mi/h²
