Yea but i make a special running playlist on my ipod with good fast songs that keep me going. Slow songs or ballads are not good ones to listen to while running.

Outside is better, and better for you. It keeps it interesting by changing the scenery. Also, if you honestly look at it, on a treadmill, you are not pushing your body weight against an immobile surface, you are just keeping up with the road. It's like someone pushing you from behind and you are just moving your legs to keep up. Less work means less gain. True you feel good after seeing the little 5 miles digitally displayed for you, but you are not nearly as tired as when you actually go push yourself on a five mile route.

No, I never listen to music even when I run inside. I love music, but I don't like to listen to it while I run. I usually try to think of music and sing it in my head.

I run for the first few miles without it to just think about things and relieve stress and then when i start to get bored and feel like i want to stop i start listening to the music and it keeps me going till i get to the end!

i don't like wearing headphones when i run. i find them very cumbersome. when i used to live near the strip i would run their and that would be my entertainment. seeing all the hotels and signs and strange people walking around at 6:00 in the morning was all i needed to keep me interested.

No, because if you are running on the road, you need to hear approaching cars and other dangers. Also, if running on a trail, you need to hear "On your left!" From people trying to pass you. So no, I don't.

Dumb idea.

YOu need to hear what's going on around you, from the truck behind you to the dog chasing you.

Save the phones for later.
