the murderers would have found other excuses if there were no religions. Maybe a lot of people of lower intelligence have been controlled by religion, and this control has discouraged them from committing individual murders, etc. I know I am reaching to justify religion, but maybe there is some good in the deceiving of people for the reasons just mentioned.

I thought I was reasonably well versed with different pagan beliefs. As I'm searching to find my place (which I'm beginning to wonder if there is one), I've looked at a bunch of beliefs... but I've only heard of Asatru recently, and at that, only on YA.

So I'm curious. What's the deal with Asatru? Is it some recent thing? I feel monotheism is right, so I wouldn't ascribe to it, but there are a lot of things people said about it that appeal.

Where does in the Bible it says that Jesus went to hell after he died.

And where in the Bible it says God put a seed of forgivenss to humanity so those before Jesus are fotgiven.

If there is no indication of such words in the Bible, why you Christian make up such graves...

Do you think masturbation a sin?

Bear In Mind Acts 10:15:

But the voice said to him again: "God has made these things clean, so don't call them unholy"

I tend to take a third person perspective when seeing atheists versus christians on here.
One thing I've noticed is the atheist are very strong in what they believe. Short of a god giving them a wedgy they are sticking to there guns.
On the other hand it seems like many christians on here get shook by anything. Their scared that the devil's using atheists against them. That we're in the holiday's not christmas. That they might catch the gay. That a movie is going to make them stop believing. Heck I had to make sure to include "many" when refering to chrisitans or else get 30 comments on genrelizing. It seems like around every corner christians are faltering.
At the same time many christians say atheists are arrogant to put up a front because they really do believe in god. When I have never seen a single atheist think anything was capable of changing there mind (oh except that deity wedgy). So what's going on here folks?

I guess that unless it's explictly prohibitted by the Bible, they are free to believe whatever they want. :)

No disrespect, just curiosity: Why do you jump in on questions directed at pagans/heathens just to say we're going to hell, worshiping Satan and/or are perverted? The answers are usually rude and attacking, how does that help converting people to your way of thinking?

Thank you for polite answers.

Should we give something the stamp of approval just because by convenience it was included when the Bible was being put together by a bunch of mostly elderly men following their personal biases? And should we be swayed by men egotistical enough to claim their own writings were "divinely inspired"?

My school choir performs for the LDS church a lot around christmas time and occasionally throughout the year. But they arent supposed to clap at the end of our performance when we are in the chapel. Why? I understand that the chapel is sacred to them, but what does that have to do with clapping when someone does a good job?

It would be kind of a bummer in Heaven if you had to think about someone you loved being tormented forever by the devil.

Do you won a Bible, a Koran, a Torah? Do you read it regularly? Do you find anything in them that you are able to use in your own Pagan worship?

I own 3 versions of the Bible, an English translation of the Koran, and an English versiion of the Torah. I read them all and find a lot in there that IS uplifting and also has applicability to my practice as a Wiccan. There IS a lot that can serve as a morality backbone to MANY Faiths that do NOT share in the dogma of those Religions. Why is it that I, a 100% Green Witch, can read, and find that good parts of their holy books. Have them totally acceptable by MY Religion and yet be confonted by memebers of those Religions who wouldn't so much as bother to simply read OUR wroks and find similar sections that hold morally uplifting parts and consider them to be valid for their use? I can honestly say that I have read the Bible more than many so-called "good, upstanding Christians" have.
