IE Gospel of Mary, the Acts of John, the Homilies of Clement, the Gospel of Truth, and the Gospel of Judas.

Evangelicals would surely say that they were left out of the bible because they were wrong... But evangelicals also say the Catholic Church (those who deemed these "Lost Gospels" as heretical writings) is an uninspired organization formed by the devil... So, evangelicals, was the Catholic Church inspired or not? If not, why dont you cannonize these Lost Gospels? If yes, why are you not Catholic? I'm just curious.

Basically:

"You are allowed to have weapons for the purpose of defense, hunting and sport"

or

"The state shall not support any religious worship"

Which one do you consider to be more of a detriment to the United States?

In Isaiah 14:12 the bible says Lucifer is the morning star. You'll have to check some of the various versions of the bible to see that it's the morning star, which the KJV calls the "Son of the morning."

The KJV says this:
12How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

The NIV says this:
12 How you have fallen from heaven,
O morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth,
you who once laid low the nations!

New American Standard Bible says this:
12"How you have (A)fallen from heaven,
O (B)star of the morning, son of the dawn!
You have been cut down to the earth,
You who have weakened the nations!

But Jesus declares he's lucifer in

Revelation 22:16
I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

I've noticed a few Christians hang out here that tend to agree with us atheists on things more often than not. While I'm glad they aren't fundies, I can't help but wonder if they aren't bending their religion to suit whatever they want to believe. Any thoughts?

I am a little bored tonight so forgive a silly question.

If a new country was found ,total uninhabited and was found and claimed by and atheist who invited all athiests to move there , no religion allowed would you move there ?
Do you think it would be a better place to live ?
What would you name it?
Do you think the Christians or Muslims would leave you in peace ?

If it is your choice, isn't that "free will"? Don't many of you reject the idea of "free will"?

If I told you I’d seen a unicorn you would dismiss me as deluded.
If 50 independent people also said they’d seen one would you have the same reaction?

How about if millions of people in all parts of the worlds said they’d seen one? Does the number of people make any difference at all? It would in a court of law for instance.

You might assert that there is no scientific evidence that unicorns exist and that unless you see one personally you won’t accept they exist. But, in view of the number of people who claim to have seen one wouldn’t it be more intellectually honest to be agnostic about unicorns?

Please, Im asking a honest question and looking forward to a honest answer

Leviticus 11:7
And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you.

Deuteronomy 14:8
The pig is also unclean; although it has a split hoof, it does not chew the cud. You are not to eat their meat or touch their carcasses.

Isiah 65;6
who sit among the graves
and spend their nights keeping secret vigil;
who eat the flesh of pigs,
and whose pots hold broth of unclean meat;
who say, 'Keep away; don't come near me,
for I am too sacred for you!'
Such people are smoke in my nostrils,
a fire that keeps burning all day.

Like maybe a "mistheist": "one who has hatred and distrust of God"... (as in "misanthropist" ["one who has hatred and distrust of man"], or "misogynist" ["one who has hatred and distruct of woman"]) .

Or perhaps atheists should be relabeled as "miscristoists"... "the hatred and distrust of Christ".

Any constructive and creative suggestions that will accurately encapsulate their vitriolic and venomous hatred towards God, Christ and Christians that all of Christendom can use to finitely define this particular group?
