Friend,

I will try to the best of my ability:

''I am THE BRAHMAN , you are THE BRAHMAN, what you eat is THE BRAHMAN,What you see is THE BRAHMAN,what you hear is THE BRAHMAN, all that surrounds you is THE BRAHMAN.There is no two things in the universe. The only ONE THING THAT IS IS THE BRAHMAN.''

That , my dear friend is the quintessence of Vedanta as I suppose.

Hinduism is not a religion in the strictest sense. It is a way of life. The Hindu Vedanta philosophy is other worldly, one has to know his origin , from where he/she has come ,where he/she is going ,otherwise" know thyself "is the sum and substance of Hindu thought.

Oneness is the law of the universe, and that truth is the real root of all acts of love and compassion. The Atman, my true Self, is the same Spirit that dwells in all; there cannot be two Atmans. Consciousness cannot be divided; it's all-pervasive. My Atman and your Atman cannot be different. For that reason Vedanta says: Love your neighbor as yourself because your neighbor IS yourself.
