Friend,
Karma is nothing but what you do.If you do good in the larger interest without selfish nature it is good.Otherwise it is not good , such things shall not be done.
A man reaps what he sows.
Similarly if you do good automatically the result will be good in some form, you may or may not notice it.
If you do bad things like hurting people, insulting elders, hating others. committing crimes , telling lies etc they are all bad.Temporarily they may yield you some material result , but those bad this return to you in some form or other. These are called bad karmas.
One can not cancel bad karma by doing good karmas.
They are like two separate accounts. They are not inter-related.
By praying to HIM the effect of bad karmas will be reduced...as suppose you are punished to walk in scorching sun, if your prayers are good and your conduct is good , some one will provide you an umbrella .You have to walk, but the intensity of suffering (the punishment) is reduced.
So do good things that your inner voice agrees. You will never go wrong.

Karma philosophy is quite complex and can not be explained so easily.
There are certain type of bad karma which can be negated by doing good karma... for example if you refused food to a hungry man.. u can negate this bad karma, by offering food to many needy.
But there are some Karma which need to be paid back.. like murder rape etc.... no amount of good karma can negate that and we have to undergo the results... but the result may be diluted by doing good karma.

You cannot cancel out ur bad Karma, but you can lessen the impact by gathering Good karma. Certinly if one intends on doing bad things one shall accumulate bad karma ie bad karma will be created.

Karma theory is like bank statement.
You have deposits (good Karma) and withdrawal (bad karma).
The balence can change but individual action can not be negated.

There is no such thing as "bad karma". Karma is just karma. Whether it is bad or good, depends solely on our own perception of it.

I think nullification what you meant, but then god calculates both the karmas and if the good ones are more than you are supposed to be a good person.

When you do good karma, all your bad ones rise to the surface to get dissolved. This is why you tend to experience more problems when this happens. Invite patience at your place and befriend him!

Yes, surely but we cant be doing both and keep on checking the balance, that would be doing bad consciously to get it cancelled by good later!! Bad we have done, that should be our past only now; from then on doing only good could erase all the bad .
