Well since he was called to the spiritual region, he strongly needed to be an spirit don't you think?
Actually he was the first resurrected "in spirit" and the last one directly by god himself. If you read carefully you could notice that after his resurrection, Christ recover the same skills that the angels manifest in the past, he materialized bodies to visit his disciples, even when they recognized him for his strong personality, sometimes he even made scars and wounds as an identification mean.
Not a zombie, only the really powerful Archangel that he always was... and is.
A.

Jesus didn't become an undead creature. He is the Christ. He walked earth for three days after his resurrection in his normal flesh self, hence it was a "miracle". Zombies don't have souls--do they don't apply.

"Science and the Resurrection" by Dr. Michael Persinger, 2002.
According to Persinger, Jesus probably was in a zombie-like state upon emerging from his hypothermic coma, during which he suffered brain damage. The coma was brought on by a combination of limbic epilepsy, ingesting the drug reserpine and restraint (the cross).
The reason he appeared so aloof as he walked among everyone was his memory had short circuited and not even he knew who he was.

He became our resurrected savior. He was no zombie. After he arose from the dead he actually appeared to several people. He did not metamorphosize into another creature.
