I am a little bored tonight so forgive a silly question.
If a new country was found ,total uninhabited and was found and claimed by and atheist who invited all athiests to move there , no religion allowed would you move there ?
Do you think it would be a better place to live ?
What would you name it?
Do you think the Christians or Muslims would leave you in peace ?

Surely that is no better than religious countries saying "no irreligious allowed"? You make out that atheists are all hounded for their lack of belief. In truth I could care less about whether people believe or worship Gods. A better place to live is the world where people are not so divisive as they are now.
I am by no means too serious, actually I am quite bored at this moment in time. I merely gave my opinion regardless of whether the question was serious or not.

That would of course depend on what the country was like.
It'd have to be a democratic country for me to be interested and I'd need to be able to have a good standard of living but otherwise I'd probably look into it.
Wouldn't mind starting my own country like that (preferably one that dominates space).
Whether such a country would be a better place to live is an open question though it does seem to be likely.
Not sure what to call it though.
As for whether others will leave it in peace, I guess that depends on whether they think it a threat to them and whether it could fight back well enough to not be worth invading.
The point that Gastounet mad about religion dying out in most countries is a good one and would probably make such a thing unnecessary.

Well for one I hope this is purely hypothetical as the entire surface of the Earth has been photographed and no other countries are likely to be discovered.
I personally wouldn't move there. Not only would it be a form of segrigation, which I am opposed to, it would give the religious nutjobs who think atheists should die a big fat target for whatever weapons they can get their hands on. I enjoy living in a vast and varied culture and I don't want to die at the hands of the religiously insane.

The abscence of crime fee would not equate to the presence of Christian morality. If a similar social shape and cultural impacts existed in countries full of atheists as they do right here, definite crime may be extra rampant. you won't be in a position to extract a guy or woman from a eastern society and impose upon them the opulent spoiled American techniques in a hypothetical.

No. The religions would try to infect the new country immidiately. They would use force and start a war against the country.
Muslims would leave the country alone though. The christians would go to war.

Yes, I would move there. It might not be a better place to live but it wouldn't be filled with hypocrisy would it? No, we would not be left in peace. And I am not even an atheist.

Would try to improve separation between church and state in your own country not be a better idea?
I might come as a tourist. I would probably see what has happened in all utopias.
Have a nice day anyway.

I can't speak for other atheists, but I believe freedom of religion is a human right. No country should ban religion. A government should be neutral towards religion.
I don't want religion abolished. I want it abandoned.

i would name it bob, and yes it would be better pending on where it is geographically and what resources we have, if we dont need to depend on anyone, we will do great. and no, the christians will keep on wanting to turn us and the Extremist Muslims, not the real Muslims, might try and blow us up if we go after them 1st.
