Smoking is a sin. I am a smoker who is Christian and I am working on changing it. I think it depends on if their desire is to change it at the time of death. I also don't believe that Hell is eternal torment. I believe it is total destruction. As in , the wages of sin is death. Eternal death by fire. No longer in existence.
Only God can say for sure what his judgment of the person is because only God truly knows their desires and their hearts. I do know that God does not want us to do it.

Smoking is a selfish act that should be avoided not only by Christians but all who care for their own health and the health of those around them. Unfortunately it lines up with the numerous other selfish acts that we commit everyday. No it will not keep a Christian out of heaven but surely could send them there prematurely.

Christians spend eternity with Christ, dear one. While smoking is a sin and will certainly lose rewards for them, it won't send them to hell. Their name was written in the Lamb's Book of Life with permanent ink the moment they accepted Jesus as their Savior.

If they are Christian then no!
We all sin, and certain sins are not worse than others.
Jesus forgave us all of all our sins and if you believe in Him, confessing your sins and committing to live for Him, you are saved and will never go to hell.
But, with committing a life to God means trying to stop sinning. And this is only possible through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

I would have thought it was a sin to damage your body. More than the sin of having sex which is good for your body.
