Doesn't it cause more problems than it solves?

It's practical in SO many ways! It gives people just cause to condemn people on the basis of their sexual orientation, and it ensures that priests who molest children will be forgiven for their transgressions. And we need more of this kind of thing in society, don't you all think?

Edit: Victor 7707, I don't have Jesus in my life, and I am perfectly capable of loving my neighbor as myself...maybe even more so than some Christians, because I don't mind if my neighbors are gay. Or swingers. Or atheists. Or divorced. Or had an abortion. Or whatever. It's not Jesus that makes me capable of love...it's human emotion and compassion, which existed long before Jesus ever set foot upon the earth.

5000 years from now, the concept of God will no doubt change just as it has over the last 2000. New religions and sects will form, others will fade, and many more will add their insights and speculations into the pool of myth. The religions that are able to adapt to the new technologies and social changes will fade out, and the ones that do adapt will become stronger. And people 5000 years from now will look back at the things we believe today and wonder "how could they have ever thought that?" Assuming, of course, that we haven't wiped ourselves out by then. And don't worry about Armageddon...it's been "almost here" since the day some idiot dreamed it up. 5000 yers from now, I'm quite sure that people will still be saying the same thing.

Human nature has not changed in the last 2000 years or ever before that. That is why the concept of God is as practical today as in Biblical times.

wow, how is the concept of not having God pratical. Look around you at all the non Spirit led people and what do you see?, murder, theft, cheating, materialistic, alcohol, drugs, destruction of families, ets: that is the true concept of living without God. When you rely on the Holy Spirit you have a true joyous life maybe with things wrong however a true peace through it all.

Good point!

God cannot be measured, so everyone is wrong about the concept, and then they have the arrogance to say they know, or there is none.

Yep, that causes conflicts!

Without God there is no HOPE. Look at the world today, wars everywhere, violence at an all time high, drugs out of control, with each generation passing by since Jesus died on the Cross the whole world will get in worse shape until it finally collapes into a one world government. Then there will be no freedoms left, we are very close to that today. With Jesus I have hope of a better tomorrow, with Jesus I can love my nieghbor as thyself, without him you can't. With Jesus I am no longer seeking, I have found the best gift in the world, peace of mind, contentment, as a Christian I live each day for him, one day at a time. What ever comes will come. I know it will be for His Glory because I am doing His will for my Life. How about you, Jesus came and died on a Cross for you, He washed away all our sins on that cross, thats one of the reasons Israel is the vocal point of the world today. The Spiritual Power that is in Israel today is overwhelming. Israel is what, the size of Rhode Island, and the whole world wants that little strip of land, why, it has no oil, or gold to speak of, Its Spiritual, we have a Spiritual body, Jesus said in John 3:3 that we must be born again Spiritually to go to see the Kingdom of God. Jesus will save you right now this minute if you will confess that you are a sinner and turn your life over to Him. If you would like a new and fresh start in life just pray this prayer believing it with everything in you, just pray Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you made a decision for Christ or have any questions, Please send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

What I find amazing is that people find it "practical" to dismiss God as a "fairytale" or a "skydaddy"...comparing Him to pink unicorns and leprechauns...
And then these self-same people whine about the world's problems.

Go figure...
