No disrespect, just curiosity: Why do you jump in on questions directed at pagans/heathens just to say we're going to hell, worshiping Satan and/or are perverted? The answers are usually rude and attacking, how does that help converting people to your way of thinking?
Thank you for polite answers.

Worthless Recruit: why the macho attitude in a lot of your answers? USMC vets don't need to prove they're brave and threaten violence - we show we're brave without threats just by walking honorably.

Me: to be fair - the question is directed at Christians who answer pagan questions. I know you haven't attacked - thank you.

Em - hey you! I thought I'd direct the question to the Christians that do jump in themselves. To those that are polite and don't attack - thank you. I've found that respect can work both ways and welcome it.

Ecterbob - if you're respectful and asking questions - you'll find pagans/heathens welcome interaction. It's the rude preaching that bugs us. If I jumped into a Christian question and said all Christians were going to the river of knives because they don't believe in Asatru, that'd be wrong.

Worthless: saying that: pagans "father" Satan didn't protect them when (righteous) Christians killed them" is fairly violent, idiotic, narrow minded, and "worthless"

I am answering this because it is addressed to Christians and think that I can answer truthfully and with some knowledge on the subject. I think some answer because they are sincere in trying to "save" you. Others are just rude as there is in every other religion and we just have to ignore them. I apologize on behalf of other Christians who know better than to be rude and offensive seeing as how this is not the way to live a Christian life

the same could be asked of pagans- I am constantly seeing pagens jump in on christian questions just to say we are stupid, judgemental, etc. It seems this just goes back and forth all day long. I am a christian, but I love all. I have a set code of beliefs, while I may wish others believed as I do, I respect free will. I still love them. I also believe that we are all sinners and that it is no person's place to judge. The whole reason a Christian SHOULD jump in on a pagan's discussion is to spread the love of Christ not hate. Unfortunatley, Christians are human- therefor flawed. Individual Christians can be just as ignorant as individuals from any other group. These are usually the most vocal, hate filled ones. They don't understand the true meaning of Christianity. A true Christian understands this and struggles daily to live a loving, giving, understanding life.

It seems to be the nature of R&S that everyone answers questions related to other groups. I've lost count of the number of times atheists have answered questions I've posted specifically to Christians, and vice versa. If it looks like a good question, I guess I can't stand being left out.
I will avoid all questions directed at pagans from now on. It is unChristlike to butt in where you're not wanted and give offense. Sorry.
Frau--thank you, because I really like "talking" to the pagans on here. If I'm ever rude or preachy, tell me. I'll apologize.

Great question!
I have often thought the same thing about atheists jumping on the Christian questions in the same way.
I honestly have no good answer for your questions except that some people are very rude and untactful. I have addressed other Christians about this many times. We are supposed to share the love of God and know that it is not our place to judge or condemn anyone.
I apologize on behalf of the people that do this. I guess every religion has some though!

Hey Frau,
You know I'm Wiccan and relatively new to answers, but the Christian jumping in putting us down out of nowhere really surprises me. I see questions that only Christians could/should answer all the time, and it never occurs to me to jump in and call them names and make fun of their religions. I think they must watch a lot of inaccurate movies about witches and pagans, and they want to see what "EVIL" we're spewing out in the world. Either that, or they could be holding in a deep desire for religious freedom and envy the fact we found some. I don't know, and I doubt that you will get any really intelligent heartfelt answers from Christians on this.

Oh...I generally peek in at pagan questions out of curiosity. I don't know alot about paganism, and I am learning...
I'm not usually rude or attacking...unless the question is rude and attacking toward Christians, and then, sometimes, my claws do slip out...sorry.
But on the whole, I have found most of the pagan types I have met to be pretty cool people.
I like that motto..."harm none"...
It could be Christian!!

It doesnt help convert anyone telling some-one theyre going to hell. lying about God turns people away from God. A true believer does not fear hell so I find it curious that so many so-called Christians will use scare tactics to try and convince a non-believer to believe in the One True God.
God wants us to LOVE Him not FEAR Hell. It's of little wonder that atheists think Christians illogical because of their irrational belief that they can stand in judgement of another's behaviour. Jesus is Judge but these so-called Christians who believes "once saved always saved" seem to think they all have the right to judge themself righteous and others who dont agree with them as deserving of hell. LOL ...that is so pathetic
i am christian not atheist

I understand how you feel! I do not do this and think it is rude, but the same goes for pagans and atheists who jump in on questions for Christians. They say cruel and hurtful things as well. It is not just one group of people doing it, it is all! Unfortunately, there are trolls on all sides and we can't seem to rid of them!! :(

I like to peruse them myself just to see what they're all about. I lock horns with pagans now and again, but there's nothing of hatred or anything like that involved. I majored in Sociology and just naturally find alot of different kinds of people and groups fascinating. It's just when beliefs collide that the crap hits the fan. And "Worthless recruit" - you obviously suffer no self-delusions about yourself, huh? Your name is aptly expressed.

It's odd how this type of response is not really an ANSWER. I hate it, too. I have done my share of answering when i'm not the one addressed, but only if i have something to say i think is relevant.
SOME of these answers come from pretenders who think it's fun to rattle Your cage. So get back at them by not getting rattled LOL!
Happy Holidays to all!
