I do not believe that the bible teaches that Jesus went to hell after his death. In 1 Peter 3 it says he "preached' to the prisoners. This word can also be correctly interpreted as "proclaimed" - as in proclaiming his victory over sin and death.
Also, the verse does not say that he was one of the prisoners.
Acts 2:30 speaks about David's Psalm 16:10 "For You will not leave my soul in Sheol,.. " Sheol in the Old Testament seldom means a place of torment. It can also be a place of rest.
Acts just renders the word as "Hades"
There are some televangelists who do teach that Jesus went into hell and was tormented by demons.
I'm not sure what your question about a "seed of forgiveness" to those before Jesus is. But Hebrews 11 lists people who lived before Jesus, who "died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them,..."

Its so interesting how some people say:
"Its not in the Bible."
While others say, look here in First Peter chapter 3.
Jesus did not go there to suffer, Jesus went there to set free those held captive there.
For more about that see Eph 4:7-10.
It would not hurt to read the whole chapter.

First answer, 1 Peter 3
18 For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, 19 through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison
2nd Answer, maybe this is what you want:
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Jesus did not go to hell after He died. He went to Heaven to be with His father. Jesus died for all people's sins even those who not saved before He did were forgiven. Look up John 3:16.

the bible isn’t entirely clear what exactly Christ did for the three days between his death and resurrection. it does seem, though, that he was preaching victory over the fallen angels and/or unbelievers. what we can know for sure is that Jesus was not giving people a second chance for salvation. the bible tells us that we face judgment after death, not a second chance. there isn't really any definitively clear answer for what Jesus was doing for the time between his death and resurrection. perhaps this is one of the mysteries we will understand once we reach glory.

concerning your first question......you have to be able to
read deeply. 2 Corinthians 5:21 "God made Him (Jesus)
who had no sin to be sin (at that point Jesus was full of all
our sins that he took on) for us, so that in Him we might
become righteous." So, Jesus experienced death of a
sinner and separation from God (that probably means He
briefly went to Hell because those sins separated Him from
God the Father at that point of His death. He endured the
punishment for our sins). By a marvelous exchange, He made
it possible for us to receive His righteousness and thereby
be reconciled to God. If you are not a Christian, you may not
be able to discern this explanation.

It's in 1 Peter as Charles W wrote. Sprit prison is hell. Christ went to organize missionary work for those who never had the chance to hear the gospel during their lives.

It does not say in the bible that Jesus went to Hell.
On the cross he said to the thief:
"tonight you will be with me in paradise"
I'm afraid I don't follow your second question, sorry

too easy..
Revelation 1:
17And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
He got the victory over 2 places DEATH and HELL!
