I am a Malaysian. We are considered a Muslim country but we have multi racial community here in Malaysia. We celebrate Eid (known locally as Hari Raya), Chinese New Year, Deepavali (for Hindus) and Christmas. All those days are public holidays in Malaysia. As a Muslim, I only celebrate Eid but as a Malaysian, I celebrate all the other celebration as well. We go to friends houses who celebrates them and have a nice time with them. It is a norm in Malaysia. Even the malls will be beautifully decorated with Christmas tree n all. But I dont celebrate it for religious purpose of course!

Practicing Muslims do not celebrate Christmas, as they consider it a non-Muslim event. Some non-practicing Muslims do celebrate it as a social event but they are a very very small minority.

Officially, some Muslim government have a holiday on Christmas day, in order to accommodate their Christian citizens, as is the case in Syria, Jordan, and Egypt, for example. Stricter governments, such as Saudi Arabia, do not celebrate Xmas.

peace/salaam.

I'm a Muslim, and I know that most people in most Muslim countries (except Christians) don't. However, some do just for the presents.

Technically, they ought to. Because the founder-prophet of Islam did accept that Jesus Christ too, was a prophet, along with Adam and Abraham and Noah, so Jesus's birth is also an event they could celebrate.

Practically, I don't think so.

For Muslims birth days are not so important. Prophet Mohammad never celebrated his birthday and neither did he celebrate birth day of any of his children.

Muslims know more about Jesus Christ than Christians. Reason is that they don't have true words of Jesus with them and they do not belive on Mohammad and his prophesy calling him fake Prophet. Some of them call Islam a cult.

Has world ever seen 1.4 billion followers of a fake Prophet or a cult leader?
The hatred Christians carry against Muslims for not believing Jesus Christ as son of God or God, make them
deprive themselves with the knowledge that God revealed to Prophet Mohammad about what Jesus Christ's missin will be when he returns to earth. Christians have very distorted man made stories with out any Divinely Revealed proof with them where as Muslims have preserved every world they Prophet of God Mohammad.

Muslims certainly do not celebrate day of Jesus like Christian do in company parties with drinking liquors, dancing with each other's wives and umarried female friends holding them from their waists. Whereas no one talks about Jesus in these parties.

Muslims believe it is highly dis-respectable way of celebrating a day for a Prophet of God.

Muslims celebrate day of Jesus glorifying teachings of Jesus by a detailed speach of a Muslims Scholar in Mosque in a Friday congregation nearest 25th December. Scholar talks on the following points about Jesus:

miracle birth of Jesus,
what Jesus preached,
his problems with Jewish High Priests,
how God's Angeles took Jesus to Heaven alive and
that the criucifixon of another look a like of Jesus
the purpose of his 3 years so mission and
lastly Scholar will explain the prophesy of prophet Mohammad about return of Jesus Christ and
circumstances of Middle East as signs when God will send Jesus back,
What Jesus will do in next 40 years he will live on erth.

We regard it as merely yet another trip, yet to no longer have fun his birthday, as we do no longer believe 25 Dec is the actual date(i think of it somewhat is around spring). We even have not got celebrations for Prophet Muhammad(pbuh), we merely deliver prayers and advantages.
