I cant speak for everyone who lives in the UK but where i live, in the midlands were there are mass numbers of muslims, which not only choose to segregate themselves from certain british cultures but also from non muslim people or from white people totally.
How most muslims totally sepperate themselves from white people due to the fact you rarely or never see a muslim woman or man with a white person unless there sitting next to each other waiting in a line or on a bus.

Not every muslim is like this i know....

but what is the point moving into a foreign country and segregating yourself from its poeple and culture??

Personally, I find it ridiculous that people put so much faith into an old collection of books that have been modified over and over
...and to top that off, not even those who believe in it can agree on it. Dont y'all have any other sources? That are more consistent?

Thanks bunches,

Christians, is Christianity at war with Islam?

Also is it at war with any other faiths or (non-belief)?

If so, how long has this been happening?

What I think many non-atheists fail to realize is that their god or gods that they believe in wholeheartedly come under the broad category of non-perceivable objects. A non-atheist saying there is a god is exactly the same as someone pointing to an empty space in front of them and claiming that there is a pot of gold right there but only that person can see it. What non-atheists believe in is limited only by their imagination and if it is a task for other people to disprove what a non-atheist believes then it is a task with no end because there is an infinite number of non-perceivable objects that can be imagined. Even if I could provide you guys with indisputable proof that your beliefs are not true, you’d probably just make up some other weird stuff to believe in, like Scientology. Why don’t you people understand this? What’s wrong with you guys?

I just got an e-mail from someone telling me that:

"You should have that cherry busted. You make me sick. You and your dried-up dusty old biscuit."

Have you ever received messages that offensive from people?

Can you please explain this to me and provide the scripture? Please don't send me to some available site.
"The Vatican said earlier this week that Pope Benedict XVI would {grant indulgences for a limited time} to pilgrims who visit Lourdes for the 150th anniversary."
"In the Catholic Church, indulgences are remittances of suffering for sins. {In order to go to heaven, it is believed one must 'repair' the harm committed on earth before death.}"

There are many prophecies about this year. Firstly, the Mayans' calendar will end. Some say it is because they just picked this year to end it. Yet, they were very intelligent people who invented many things.

There are also some Chinese prophecies, which I'm not too familiar with.

Any news/thoughts?

So, on another question you said "I wanted to comment on the girl that talked about noah. not all stories in the bible are actual truth, many of the ones in the old testament are stories to help us understand God and his power more. noah's story may or may not be true" where did you find this? Stories that were only representations were clearly labled as Parables, however, God talks nothing of Parables in Noah's Ark. Also, if Noah's ark was just to help us understand things better, why would God give us the EXACT dimentions of the arc, the age of Noah, the days it took him to build the ark, so on and so forth, and what would he be trying to help us understand better? Don't mean to be harsh, just wanting to understand where you came up with your theory that not all Bible stories are true...

I ask this because, with translation, there is a certain amount of creativity practiced on the part of the translators when searching for equivalent words and meanings. Surely a work such as the bible which to some people is more than just a nonsensical collection of ancient stories, is far too important to let the translation of it be at the very least unguided by a god?

Does Holy, holy, holy = Ho, ho, ho?

I mean, are we all such beasts at heart that we all need to spend our childhoods being constantly drilled about right and wrong behavior and being threatened with everlasting punishment if we make the wrong decisions and have the wrong impulses? And that’s just from a religious perspective. Even the stories we tell our children and the movies we take them to see every school holidays are loaded with messages designed to teach children moral behavior. Why is there such an influence on morals?
