Because they have been brainwashed by an extremely dull and fictional book that is very outdated being at least 2000 years old. They also assume that this is the truth and quite like to hide and shelter under their cult so as to avoid the real truth which is the harshness of reality and life. I find it absolutely incredible how someones life can be dictated by a musty old book!
Perhaps another reason is that they grew up with this waffle so they do not truly understand the true meaning of life and truth.
I will probably get an avalanche of thumbs down like usual lol

I quote the Bible when someone asks about a passage, or twists one. The rest of the time I prefer to give a link or info from a neutral site or even an atheist site..I think atheists would feel more comfortable with it. If it is a science or history question I will quote from a mainstream site, like a university or museum. etc.

Because they have the deluded belief that it is actually true. Just as Muslims have the alternative belief that the Koran is the word of god. Hopefully one day they will all come to realise that the books they are referring to, and living their lives by, are just made up, mythological fairy tales.

lol i know its funny that quote it like its true like it means anything to anyone but them. i always laugh and say so. bible is a book written by scholars and some pretty smart people...plus look how many times it has been rewritten.
