Because we are aware of the limitations of the human power. We rightly think that there is a power superior to that of human power and that we call God's power. anything superhuman we tend to attribute to God.

For me it is a combination of most of those things. The exceptance is fear of death. Yes, my parents are christians and from a young age I was tought to be one. I did have a deeply religious expierience, but it wasnt like a legion of Angels came from the heavens blowing trumpets riding flaming chariots. I was when I first saw the power of prayer work. It's a long story so I wont go into any details, but those are some reasons that I am a Christian.
For more reasons, a beliefe in a higher power adds more significance to your life. Evolution, Big Bang, these things just seem to make life so meaningless. That the only reason your here is because of some mathematical happenstance, just by luck. And they two theories dont add up. The Big Bang Theory, first there was absolutly nothing, then there was something, that not only defies religion, but it also defies science. A scientific law states that matter can not be created or destroyed, only altered. And dont get me started on evolution.

So there you have my reasons. I hope you find your answer.

I believe because of two reasons.

1) Its logical.
People will read this and scoff, calling me ignorant, illogical, stupid, whatever. Before calling me names, please, sincerely research the case for Christ with an open mind. There are many resources that question the Christian faith as well as those that support it. Come to your own conclusion, but don't get a superiority complex because you think you know better.

There is a book called the Case for Christ. In it, Lee Strobel, a former atheist and journalist investigates the case for Christ and lays out the facts in a simple and easy way.

2) I've had a genuine religious experience.
When I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior, I experienced a shift in my life that wouldn't have been possible on my own. I don't mean to say that I'm suddenly perfect, after all, Im still human. But I have purpose and I don't feel the need to listen to other people's opinion.

I do question my beliefs. That's what makes me stronger in my faith because I try to get answers.

Yes, I question my beliefs at times.. I don't have all the answers to life questions and mysteries, but I learn everyday a little more. I believe in God because this is what I feel in my heart to be true, even though I cannot prove this to you, it doesn't make it any less real. I see much organization in the universe and this leads me to believe it was created by a Higher Being. I was raised Roman Catholic, but I disagree with it, so I'm not the religion my family is.

I believe in a Higher power because things like these just can't exist on its own. You know, the complexity of life, the perfect gravitational forces acting on the earth to rotate around its orbit and axis, etc. The whole cosmos and its perfection all declare a Supreme Being is behind all of these.

Yup. I fear death too. But its normal I guess. Anyway, death isn't designed for humans. It was totally out of the real plan. if not for the teptation and the fall, there would be no death. But faith in Jesus could erase taht fear for in Christ, "To die is to gain". Through Him, eternal life could be gained. I know I have to learn more of that.

I guess people are programmed/hardwired to believe in a Supreme Being. Since prehistoric times, humans have the tendency to believe that Someone is higher than them. Through the bible, it was truly revealed who He was.

I question my beliefs (esp. during hard times). Sometimes, I even doubt His existence and goodness. But I know its all part of its. There can be no faith without doubt. Its part of the faith-strengthening.

I am a born again Christian and when that happened I felt the Holy Spirit dwell in my soul, guiding me. I went to Catholic Church growing up and my parents didn't go......so they didn't influence me. Besides...........the Catholic Church spoke Latin then and I got nothing out of it because I don't speak Latin. What's the point if you don't know what is being said?
I don't fear death because I have read the whole bible and know what Heaven is like and I am going to be there when the Lord calls me home. It is beautiful and no worries, no bills, no pain, no tears and I get to see Jesus who died for me. +
I never question my beliefs because that would be questioning what God wrote and He is the Truth and the Way. The Holy Bible tells me everything I know to be a good Christian and follow God's commands. Without doing this and repenting of my sins and believing in Jesus that He was born as the incarnate God, lived and taught the Word on earth , was scorned, carried the stripes, shed His blood , was crowned with thorns, spat upon and betrayed by many and then crucified on the cross for all of our sins so that we may have salvation and enter Heaven. He also rose again from the dead and showed himself so that He would be believed. This is the price He paid for the wages of sin and it was a dear price. Thank you Jesus for dying for me.
I was in deep prayer over two of my grandsons one night and I began to speak in tongues and couldn't stop. I had no idea what language it was and was a little afraid until I went to the Bible and it said it was a gift from God. I also was clinically dead and came back. God made everything and I don't question that ever. When Jesus returns, I want to be ready.

I believe we are under the power of a Loving yet disciplanary supreme being. He/She has created us in his/her image, but desires to have a relationship with us that requires a daily need to communicate (prayer) concerning the differences that we are borne with.
These differences are meant to create love and prosperity by separating us from all being clones of an unimagenative GOD. How creative would that be? If we were all made the same, same color, same race, same political views, and tastes for what we desire in our lifetimes. WE were created with a free will to do as we see fit, good or evil. The laws of GOD were too difficult for us, the chosen children who share this time and space. We rebel and we are forgiven, time and time again; with what we steal from, share with, kill and destroy, amongst our fellow humans as well as denying and trying to hide our worst from the GREAT ONE.
What's in the sky? Magical entities for certain! Is this home to GOD? My parents no longer walk with us/me on this earth, yet I feel their loving presence daily, they have taught me how they conquered the life and death of this earth and are back in the creators' realm. I cannot say whether this realm (heaven) is in the sky. It maybe a split second out of phase with reality, and be right here in a realm of inner space of GOD'S LOVE as I experience their love right here in this small world.
Finally, you ask if I question my beliefs? The reply is in my reply to the question, and I think I will sleep a little more restful due to your having asked it.

The main reason is because I believe is that there is so much wickedness in the world that it cannot go on like this forever. The Messiah must come back to save those who aint exactly living grand and are being looked down upon for believing in HIM.

Because this isn't all just a coincidence. Ever heard the one about how long it would take a monkey to type the 23rd Psalm? That's how I know there's an Intelligent Designer.

I've spoken to him, and he has spoken to me.

My father and I have had an ongoing relationship for a very long time.

How could I not believe in him? Seems we're a bit past that point by now.
