Religion & Spirituality - 8 December 2007

[Selected]: All categories Society & Culture Religion & Spirituality

I've been doing some research on religions for a class I'm taking, and I came across this date on a few websites.

Is there anybody out there who believes this? If you do, how do you think that date was discovered, down to the exact day? Also, what is your take on the sciences, which are constantly discovering evidence that the world is, well, much older than 7000 years old?

I hope so. If the God of the Bible existed he/she would not approve of this medieval punishment.

The woman is crazy. She is a stupid dog. She insulted my Baptist faith. She referred to it as a cult that brainwashed people. She has desecrated my faith. Should I sue her?

Okay, my parents threw out my Wicca books when they discovered them, when I was 16. I am now 29, and I had almost all the books bought back by the time I was 19, I have quite the Wiccan library now.
My question is that I can't remember the title of a book I found inspiring, and I've searched on Amazon and all over the net for it. In the intro of the book, the female author tells how she was always drawn to witchcraft. She sees a car with a "WICCA HEALS" bumper sticker on it and she waits to talk to the owner. That's how she first learned about Wicca. The book was bought in 1996, and I think (but not positive), that it was written in the late 70's, early 80's. I really want to read that book again! It was before Ravenwolf and a lot of the fluffy books came out, and it isn't a Sarah Morrison book. If anyone knows this book, I would be so grateful!

Assuming that it would be an unbiased approach, do you think this would be a good idea?

Ok, the strength of Christians, what the heck was up with the animal spirits attached to each human labelled a "daemon"?/ We all know the meaning of that word. Also, It appeared the whole mission in this installment of the trilogy (I'm sure the other three movies will come out in time) was to acknowledge the elusive "dust"...and the Magisterium's "sinister" quest to abduct children to steal their daemons? It was no doubt entertaining, but looking back, none of that makes any sense because we didn't really get enough history or follow-up (those of us who have not read the books).

Ok, so the daemon gets hurt, or unattached by the trippy machine, and then the individual is like catatonic? What is that to signify? The human soul being what animates us? Is the daemon a representative of the human soul? Hmmm. Why such a use of words to describe it, if that was the point?

of NEW or of the OLD testaments?
the NEW testaments is the AGE OF GRACE.

Acts 2:22 “Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.”

For Peter, Jesus was a servant of God (confirmed in Matthew 12:18):

Acts 3:13 “The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus.”

Acts 3:26 “God raised up his servant...”

John 5:30 “I can of mine own self do nothing.”

Jesus did not consider himself equal with God, rather he denied doing anything by himself.

The Bible says that God performed miracles through Jesus & Jesus was limited in what he could do.

Matt. 9:8 “But when the crowds saw this, they were awestruck, and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.”

The Bible says that at times of weakness angels strengthened Jesus; God ,however, does not need to be strengthened.

The Bible says that Jesus wanted God’s will to be done, not his own.

Luke 22:42: “not my will but Yours be done.”

John 5:30 “I do not seek my own will, but the will of Him who sent me.”

I'm not gonna give out any names cause I dont wanna piss anyone off(or at least not tonight anyway) but I heard some people from one cult accusing another cult of being a cult.

But anyway, does anybody else find it funny? One group accusing another group of what they are themselves?
