Why do we separate each other with different denominations: Baptist, methodist, Catholic etc etc why cant we just be Christ followers and follow his word? Any opinions?
I just consider my self a lover and follower of Jesus!

we spend hours and hours monthly worshipping god! their is NO proof at all that any of his stories are real! We make donations to the church to somthing that may not be real! We pray to someone who may not be real!

Why do we do it?

I dont know if i completely am convinced their is a god or Jesus but what i do beleive in is the life style other than worshiping him! What is your opinion on god

Deuteronomy 18:19 “And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require [it] of him.” (in some translations: “I will be the Revenger”).

do you think this subject should be scored with qualitative score or quantitative score by some paper test? what's your reason?
i personally think religion quantitative scoring in my country should be banned. i feel sorry about students who are not christian get bad scores on quantitative test. and those who get good score; it doesnt make them being more faithful. i think it would be better if teacher watches the students behaviours and do the teaching just like they do in sunday skool. what's the point of religion score? it's abstract, only God who can give us religion score...

If you think so...how do you explain this????

http://www.aclufightsforchristians.com/

"The ACLU fights just as hard for INDIVIDUAL free exercise of religion as the ACLU fights against GOVERNMENT endorsement, sponsorship, or establishment of religion. Despite this fact, many people spread misinformation about the ACLU around the internet, innocently and maliciously, falsely claiming the ACLU is anti-religion or anti-Christian.

This list of FACTS counteracts that misinformation. These links represent just a few of the many examples of the ACLU defending the free speech and free exercise rights of Christians (for purposes of this list, the word “Christian” means a person who self-identifies as “Christian”).

In every example, the ACLU is defending the right of a Christian to speak as a Christian or to practice Christianity.

Here is the current version of this EVER GROWING list: ...

over the Movie The Golden Compass that is coming out? Some say it's anti-christian and promotes atheism. And people are planning on protesting it.

I personally think that people shouldn't protest something such a movies because everyone should have the Right to express their ideas however they please, and if you don't like it then you don't have to see or hear it. I think people get to wrapped up in their own emotions to see that everyone is entitled to an opinion and that everything doesn't have to be viewed as offensive. It's a movie, which means you have to pay for a ticket to see it, it's not like you are being forced to view it. How ridiculous to make a big deal over something like that. What do you think?

Genesis 6:1-4.

and it came to past when men began to multiply on the face of the earth(nothing about angels MEN) and daughters were born unto them. Witch means woman were not for God, but born for man.
2. That the sons of God( man in Gods image) saw the daughters of men(woman in mans image) that they were fair; and they took
them wife's of ALL which they chose( God never mated man, man took their own wife's, so God is not part of marriage of man and woman)
3. and the Lord said, my spirit shall not always strive with man(nothing about angels), for he also is flesh.( Means God left man because they have no idea what love or righteousness is). yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
4. There were Giants in the earth in those days( this does not say that the giants came from man, but could be of a beast(DINOSAURS large animals,) AND ALSO after that, when the sons of God, came in unto the daughters of man( had sex with woman) and they bare children to them.

i see nothing wrong with it. If two people that aren't related love each other they should be able to have a marriage like straight people. Is it really going to change your lifestyle if gay people can marry? i mean come on i think the people that r against gay marriage only because the bible says God doesnt like it should just stop bothering other people and they should control their own lives.

I just asked a little bit ago whether anybody here in R&S knew of a good place to buy a god-detector. And I was startled to see that quite a few people were recommending that I go out and buy a bible, because that also works as a god-detector.

The troubling thing is, I already HAVE a bible. I've read it. I just...well, I guess maybe I shouldn't have thrown away the instruction manual. How exactly do you get it to detect god? Is there a hidden battery compartment or something? Does the wiring go bad after a while?

I've had it for over a decade and I've never known it to give me any indication that there was a god anywhere around. Is it supposed to beep or something?

I've got it sitting on my bookshelf right next to my Koran...do you think there's some kind of interference going on? Like with speakers and monitors? Would it help if I put them in separate rooms?

Many people like to claim that America is a Christian Nation and that our laws our based on the ten commandments.

The first 4 commandments deal with worshipping/honoring God.

1. You shall not worship any other god but God.

2. You shall not make a graven image.

3. You shall not take the name of God in vain.

4. You shall not break the Sabbath.

Which laws on this books make it illegal to "break the Sabbath" take the Lord's name in vein, worship a God, other than the God named in the Old Testament, or worship a graven image.

The 1st amendment to the bill of rights says that congress shall not establish religion or prevent the free excercise thereof. Doesn't this contradict the some of the commandments.

In the early founding days of our countries, people were whipped or fined for being religiously correct. Are witch burnings and whipping people for failing to observe the Sabbath examples of our laws being based on the 10 Cs'. ?

This is what I believe, tell me if you think it's okay.

I'm a Christian who believes the most important commandments were to love God, and love your neighbor as you love yourself. That's what it says in the Bible.

I don't go to church except on the occasional holiday, or funerals and baptisms.

I try reading the Bible everyday. I focus on the New Testament. Particularly Christ's word.

I try to love God with my heart and pray as often as I can. I let faith, hope, and particularly love guide my choices. I always forgive those who offend me. I pray for my enemies. I love everyone, even the lost.

My goal in life is to just love my friends in family with all my heart as long as God allows me to do so.

I was recently told off by a local Christian who told me I was a Liberal Christian and the reason the church is losing its power. He basically told me that dogma and strict religious traditions were more important than my loving philosophy.

Do I seem like a good Christian?

Christians complain endlessly about how "wrong" it is for Atheists and Agnostics to do the same towards pro-Christian films and literature.

Do any of you see the hypocrisy you promote by do so?
