Yes, He knew His name. In the Hebrew or Aramaic of His day, His name would have been Y'shua, just as one of the other responders has stated, and it's the same word as Joshua or Jason (Hebrew/Aramaic and Greek, respectively). If I'm not mistaken, Issa is the Arabic version of His name.
There was at least one instance where He was indeed called Jesus. When He was crucified, John 19:19 says the title attached to the cross read, "Jesus of Nazareth The King of The Jews". Before that, in Luke 18:38, there was a blind man who wanted to see, and he called out, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me". No doubt there were other times that were not recorded in the Gospels but as you can see, there were these two instances plainly recorded.
I think one of the reasons why there are so few references was the culture of the day. Seemingly, few people were addressed by their given name but were either called "you" or by their father's name (son of Joseph, son of Jonas, and so forth).

It is really Yashua or Yeshua or some derivative of whatever the Hebrew name for Joshua is.
Proof?
Go to Hebrews 4 and read the chapter in multiple versions, some use Jesus and Joshua interchangeably
Edit: Moe, most of the studys I have seen show that Jesus is closer to the Greek Zeus than any Hebrew word.

jesus is the greek equivalent to the hebrew name yeshua
there is no j in hebrew y becomes j in greek and any name ending in a vowel like an a means feminine in greek but when you add us it means male so yeshua means jesus
if jesus really lived his name would have been yeshua bin yusef or joshua son of joseph

Jesus is an English translation of a Greek form of the Hebrew name Yashua (not sure if I spelled it correctly). Yashua translated directly from the Hebrew is Joshua. All of these names mean "God Saves" or "God the Savior" depending on how they are used.
