Because christianity is the preferred religion of the majority, and when the majority decide to do something....nobody is supposed to question it....it's just expected and accepted.

There is a difference between saying, "Philip Pullman wants to undermine Christianity" and "Philip Pullman is an uneducated idiot." The former is legitimate disagreement. The latter is belittling. Christians typically complain about the latter sentiment (from atheists against Christianity), not the former. If you say that "The Passion of the Christ" was made in an attempt to undermine atheism, you are correct. That's not a problem. But if you call it a two hour snuff film for brainwashed morons, that is a problem.

I do not think Christians are criticizing criticizing, such as you chose to do here, but the content, and it is expected that if you believe you are right you will defend it against attacks based upon their content.
Unlike Islam, when things like the Da vince Code or atheist's anti-God books came out, equating Christians with terrorists (baptists are knows for flying plans into building, etc), fundamental evangelical Christians did not kill anyone, or burn their images, etc, but the main response was and is substantiated responses. And actually i see a whole lot more demeaning anti- Christian rants than the other way around on R+S.
Have a good day.

I have never seen atheists ban and complain about pro-christian films. A little belittling maybe, but we think you should have the choice to see what you want.

I think your buying into generalizations a bit too much. Think about it.. Do you think every person who comes here to complain about you trying to push your agenda is out trying to push there's. You have too groups of people within two groups. There are Atheists who don't push there agenda on christians... and vice versa. An example...
If Bob came in here to tell you he doesn't appreciate you protesting christianity... and Chuck is sitting at a movie theater protesting the movie... does that mean Bob is therefore protesting the movie???

We live in America where we can voice our opinion regardless to what any one thinks.Christians or believers in God can voice their dislikes just like those who oppose prayer in school and what ever else people want to complain about. Its to bad we can`t live and let live. Just love one another regardless of our differences.

I thought we were all allowed to belittle stuff we didn't like?
Isn't that a litterary or movie critic/s job?

Well, they're right about everything, so where's the inconsistency?
Abandonment of critical thinking does tend to lead to these results. They think it's 'Freedom of my religion, freedom of my speech, freedom of my press'.
