do you think this subject should be scored with qualitative score or quantitative score by some paper test? what's your reason?
i personally think religion quantitative scoring in my country should be banned. i feel sorry about students who are not christian get bad scores on quantitative test. and those who get good score; it doesnt make them being more faithful. i think it would be better if teacher watches the students behaviours and do the teaching just like they do in sunday skool. what's the point of religion score? it's abstract, only God who can give us religion score...

Part of the grading issue could depend on what the class is trying to teach. If the course is designed to teach only the literary forms (The Bible As Literature, for example) you would almost need a paper test to see if the students understand prose narrative from, say, a parable. Depending on the curriculum, I don't see a problem.

But you are absolutely right about the qualitative scores, too. Learning intended to educate the mind--the cognitive aspects, the major points of doctrine, et al., --is only one part of the process. Jesus Himself always aimed at the heart of His listeners, and so should a teacher. Facts are one thing, faith is quite different.

First of all I’d like to say I’m not trying to be a smart@#$. I generally like the idea of some sort of limited schooling on a number of religious groups, possibly the 5-10 most followed throughout the world. Only through educating ourselves about others will allow us to coexist more peaceably with our neighbors. The fact is the last 2000 + years have taught us is that blind hatred based on a narrowminded view of peoples who don’t share a belief as others has done nothing but bring death and destruction.

"students who are not christian get bad scores on quantitative test"? Serves them right for going to a christian school.

In any case, it should be tested like history: names and dates, names and dates only.

LoL. Baby, that is both interesting and quaint. The Bible has all of God's knowledge, so no. Those who have studied the Bible may judge your answers. Though only God has perfect judgment. So, yes. Yet, God isn't here, so no.
