Just trying to figure out why the same people who flood my inbox with Christian email forwards also send me crap about what sign they are.

Here is a common analogy that still gets used:

"I do not need proof of God anymore then I need proof of air.I can't see either and yet know that both exist"

This analogy is used by replacing "air" with virtually anything from the human brain to a blackhole. These analogy's are so useless since they always rely on two things that fail.
1.both can't be seen thus can't be proved
2.one exists thus the other must as well

The reason these two examples fail is because much of what is used in these kind of analogy's can be proved and/or seen whilst God can not be.These analogy's also can be used to argue for any God or any other invisble force no matter how obviously made up might be (example: tooth fairy).

So, why oh why are these analogy's still used? Are there still people out there who think these analogy's actually work at making a point other then that the person trying to make the point has nothing better to go on?

Since books like the de Vinci code and holy blood, Holy Grail have come out, I have wondered why there has not been a great effort in books and movies to debunk or disprove Islam like they have done to Christianity ?

I just asked a question of how old people think the world / modern men are. I noticed a lot of poeple put 6000 years. How do you then explain dinosaurs and human remains found to be hundreds of thousands of years old? Also what tells you the world is 6000 years old?

Talk about lucky! That means his birthday could be celebrated at the same time as a holiday that was already massively popular and entrenched in Western society.

I was asking this question in Low & Ethics section but it seams lawyers consider it to belong more to philosophic field. So I ask it here as well. Any opinion will be appreciated. Thank you.

I am at work looking up ideas to decorate my office door (we are having a contest...yeah we are lame).
Anyway I just came across this site that talks about how to decorate like a Christian. COME ON PEOPLE!!
(I have to say though the comment on the page about having a sign on yopur door that says "Beware of Christian" was rather funny.

So is there a Christian way to do EVERYTHING!

Whenever an atheist (me) attacks Islam, they always respond by not answering my question and then saying how bad Christianity/Western Cluture is.

Until Islam changes its stance on imposing Islam on the rest of the world by hook or crook I will never stop attacking it.

Are either of them really worth listening to? Both sides will argue to the death their indisputable argument of BECAUSE! Neither has a shred of proof, yet anyone that doesn’t believe in their narrow-minded views is wrong.
Why don’t both sides just shut the you-know-what up, go find your own to talk to, and quit trying to impose your views and beliefs (or lack thereof) on the rest of us.

My belief that in God's eyes, any lie of any kind or size is just that, a lie, I am not asking here to see if you agree with me, but if you know Bible verses that back that up, I would appreciate having them to hold myself accountable, thanks :)

Good morning my fellow 'deniers' of the holy spirit!

I have attempted to follow all the Presidential Candidates, but every time I find something I like about one, I look at the rest of what they support and everything is Christian! Not supporting gay rights or anything their 'god' doesn't approve of.

I want to spend a little time and devotion into this next election - who are you going to follow and why?
