You know, those people who tell others how much God loves them and that they are going to be tortured eternally in hell, all in one sentence?

a) Romans and Jews believed that the disciples stole the body from the tomb while the guards were asleep.
b) The 18th century Rationalists suggest that Christ didn't die, but merely swooned.
c) Modernists claim that Christ was never buried, but thrown into a ditch along with the other malefactors crucified with Him.
d) Dr. Kirsopp Lake thinks that the Holy Women and the disciples mistook the tomb, stumbling by chance on an empty one.

If u don't have anything constructive to say and simply wish to use this as an excuse to bash, please don't. It's a serious question. Thanks

How can one determine the validity of a hadith. I have become aware of the term 'weak hadith'... is it possible that some hadith are not the words of the prophet pbuh. If this is the case how are we to discern the truth in ambiguous matters.

before you come attacking me

I asked if atheism was just naturalistic and materialistic

the definition of naturalism:
the view of the world that takes account only of natural elements and forces, excluding the supernatural or spiritual.

materialism:
The theory that physical matter is the only reality and that everything, including thought, feeling, mind, and will, can be explained in terms of matter and physical phenomena

why did atheists think I was attacking them? I was just asking if everything can be explained in physical terms or if some atheists are spiritual or supernatural. but so many people got upset. did they just not actually read the question?
do I need to buy them a dictionary?

We all know Christians say we go to Heaven or Hell...but in the mind of those who don't believe there is a God, what happens when we die? What's your opinion? (serious question)

I have been studying for about a year. I want to become bapized at our next district convention, which will be held in June. However, sometimes I don't feel as if I'm ready. I love Jehovah and want to dedicate my life to him however I feel as if I'm too imperfect. I got into an argument with my husband last week and cursed him out. I felt very discouraged after that. I haven't done something like that in a while - since I've been taking the truth seriously. (Which has only been the last 5 or 6 months. As a matter of fact my husband started a study when he saw the changes in me) I also feel like I'm not vocal enough. I don't hang out with my co-workers anymore nor join in the foul jokes we used to tell. But at the same time I haven't exactly told them why. Question is: How did you know you were ready to be baptized? I feel like the "birdcatcher" is getting me by using fear of men. I will build my faith but prayer and study, but just wanted to know if any of you had similar obstacles

An acquaintance of mine is currently teaching a lactose-intolerant investigator with lots of Godmaker questions and pulled out the "milk before meat" quote in an email. I found this just slightly humorous. Your thoughts?

In case you are not familiar with Newton's laws of motion:

1). "An object will stay at rest or continue at a constant velocity unless acted upon by an external unbalanced force"
2). "The force on an object is equal to it's mass multiplied by it's acceleration"
3). "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction".

Question two: do you think that someone in the court will believe that:
Presuming those lows are universally true and unchangeable then it means someone had to give universe the first push. Otherwise, it can be proven that a killing object may move without being act upon by an external force just like it did before, therefore, the suspect may not be condemned unless caught in action.

I just discovered I have psychic abilities, I get premonitions in my dreams and they almost always come true. I am a christian, I have believed in God since I was in the first grade. Will he look down on me because I am psychic? Is being psychic from the devil? Or is this a gift from God?

Interestingly, many scientists do not believe in god, but they believe in evolution. But notice what the Bible says about intellectual ones...

Matthew 11:25- At that time Jesus said in response: “I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to babes.

The reason many do not believe in the Bible is because they do not want to be accountable to anything higher than themselves. Pride gets in the way. So if a person is going to believe in God and the Bible, they need to be humble.

2 Corinthians 4:3,4- If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.

The Bible says:

Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man…”

Hosea 11:9 “...For I am God, and not man...”

Jesus is called a man many times in the Bible:

John 8:40 “…a man who has told you the truth…”

Acts 2:22 “Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know.”

Acts 17:31 “He will judge the world in righteousness through a man whom He has appointed”

1. Tim. 2:5 “…the man Christ Jesus.”

God is not a man, but Jesus, may God praise him, was a man, therefore, Jesus was not God.

2. The Bible Says that God Is Not a Son of Man

Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man...nor a son of man…”

The Bible often calls Jesus “a son of man” or “the son of man.”

Matthew 12:40 “…so will the son of man be…”

Matthew 16:27 “For the son of man is going to come…”

Matthew 28 “…until they see the son of man coming in His kingdom.”

Mark 2:10 “But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority…”

John 5:27 “…because He is the son of man.”

In the Hebrew Scriptures, the “son of man” is also used many times speaking of people (Job 25:6; Psalm 80:17; 144:3; Ezekiel 2:1; 2:3; 2:6; 2:8; 3:1; 3:3; 3:4; 3:10; 3:17; 3:25).

Since God would not contradict Himself by first saying He is not the son of a man, then becoming a human being who was called “the son of man”, he would not have done so. Remember God is not the author of confusion. Also, human beings, including Jesus, are called “son of man” specifically to distinguish them from God, who is not a “son of man” according to the Bible.
