Pretty close, it's more like bringing a Spiderman comic to a science conference on arachnids.
The bible speaks of the same things as the scientific debate, but it has zero respectability as a source in the field.

Nah, it's more like bringing the Easter Bunny into a biology class. Philosophy at least has some merit and can make use of empirical data.

The second part of your example is reversed.
Taking a Bible to a scientific discussion is like taking a PHILOSOPHY BOOK to a biology class.
Or are you trying to make a point that the Bible's is "truth" and Biology is not? If so, you are just another brain-washed Bible-thumper. Sorry. The truth always hurts.

Biology and science in general can have some major implications for philosophy. I think it's more like bringing a Superman comic into Engineering class.

No, it's more like bringing a kinder garden pop-up book, with pictures of talking dragons and unicorns, to a class on Molecular Biology.

I can think of several times in which biology would be appropriate to discuss during a philosophy class. For example, it might enter into a discuss on whether a persons actions were motivated by "freewill", or the results of a chemical inbalance in their body. Without an understanding of biology, it would be difficult to understand their actions.
So the Bible could well have a place in a "science" discussion. If for no other purpose than to remind people of the limitations of science. It is only able to deal with objective "facts". Religion is still needed to deal with "truths".

primitive stooges? i dont think so... how much it would have taken? Jesus Christ performed miracles and was then resurrected. i think if someone that i witnessed die on the cross for my sins rose from the dead, that i would believe they where the son of God. Plus when revelations was written god allowed the person writing it to see "the end" that is why it tells how the world will end in the Bible. so they where looking at 21st century stuff. they werent ignorant goat herding savages. you dont know what you are talking about

No because philosphy is the search for truth, and the biology book could be useful. It's more like bringing a math book to a class on modern poetry.

Mmmmm- more like bringing a book of poems to cookery class, I'd say. Loopy.
The Bible cannot be refuted by science, as cowardly liars like to say. And if a class tries to use science to disprove theism, it is not science, and the teacher should be dismissed if not arrested.
