There's only one belief in Atheism and that is that god doesn't exist and that's it. Other than that, all Atheists has different things in their mind unlike Christians. Each has their own thoughts and views about the world. The majority or may be few are like that but it doesn't apply to all.
If I am being defensive here, please explain. I'm merely explaining what Atheism is to you. What's the point of wating my energy and being offensive with you?

Not necessarily ...
1. I tap into the wonder of the universe. Its complexity as represented through experiment, theory, practice and discovery is enough to fill any life with a sense of novelty and amazement.
2. Some scientists see a "spiritual" side to the universe by stressing if the universe is all that there is, and we are a part of this universe, then we are the universe - only in thinking form. Imagine that, we are all representatives of the universe's ability to think back on itself. This is truly extraordinary.
3. Some atheists believe not so much in the spiritual as they do in the "human spirit". It is that sense of adventure, play, curiosity and learning. It is acknowledging that we are here and we have an energy inside us to drive ourselves forward into this spectacular world. This Earth is a playground, a magnificent arena where in one lifetime of experience none will be able to take it all in. This can more than lead to a fulfilling life, a life of energetic nuances.
4. Simply being alive is enough to allow one to appreciate life's value. How cool it is to be an entity such as the human. Just learning about the body itself, its inner workings and associations with its environment is beyond any beauty and grace we can possibly know.
5. This Earth is filled with over six billion different human expressions of life, as well as trillions of other representations of life in the animal kingdoms. This is enough to fill any person with awe-inspiring inspiration. Knowing we share a community on this little blue pearl called Earth should lead to wise stewardship and the need to protect it.
The above shows how an atheist can live a life that moves just outside the purely material and purely naturalistic. There is actually some ideals involved. Good question.

I don't believe in the supernatural, so I guess so.
All we have is the time we're here, so we had better use our years and live life like every days is your last... Cause when you don't believe in a deity you fully accept the reality that when you die you DIE. And ya know, that's okay...
And when we have a rough time we don't sit alone in a room and talk to an invisible person in the sky. We reach out to friends and family who we can actually see, hear, and touch. And ya know, that's okay... Relying on other people to help you through a hard time is a GOOD thing.
And if we're sick and get better we thank the doctors and nurses and the people who created the medicine that helped us get better. And if we get a great new job we feel proud of ourselves and our achievements. And so on and so on.... We don't brush off the achievements of people who work hard and serve others by saying "God did it! Yayyy!"
So no, not materialistic... Realistic because we only believe in the things we can see and touch to help us get through life. And like I said, that's okay.. :)

Atheists don't believe in gods, because all the gods that are worshipped today have been proven to be false.
That's all there is to it.
It's not a philosophy. It's not a creed.
It's an acceptance of the facts.
What if it is materialistic and naturalistic? If not believing in Santa Claus made your life less meaningful somehow, does that mean everyone should believe in Santa Claus?

Atheism is a belief system just as religion is a belief system.
Is it purely one thing or another? No - but I think it's safe to say that on the whole Atheists believe that there is no all-powerful, all-knowing entity who's responsible for turning the crank running this universe.
After that, how Atheists understand things is as individual as the person (just as each experience of salvation is highly individual).

Atheism means very simply, a non belief in any god(s). That is all. Anything other than that is an individual position of each individual atheist. Unlike Theists we do not all think alike.

the only ingredient that's parallel with atheists frequently is the disbelief in the supernatural. What which skill is mostly a private interpretation. some think of metaphysics or maybe ghosts are actual, some do no longer. some have faith in evolution, some do no longer. You get the belief right here.

LOL I know, that's why you need to give money every time you go to an atheist organization.
But really, it's neither, atheism is not a religion. It is an adjective used to describe those who do not believe in a god/gods. THerefore an atheist can be one, both or neither.

Some are and some are not. I consider myself a Spiritual Atheist, which leaves space for me to embrace mysteries that touch me on a deeper level than just that of my 5 senses. However I do not believe that such mysteries are the machinations of one or more supreme/divine being(s).
