Christian groups seem to take offense with the concept of the "Holiday Season" and the expression "Happy Holidays". The vast majority of religions have some form of celebration around the winter solstice, but Christians seem to think that anything other than "Merry Christmas" is offensive.

Personally I find this attitude offensive.

Do you believe that Jesus was sent by some one?

“He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives Him who SENT me
Matthew 10:40

“I was not SENT except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
Matthew 15:24

“He who hears you hears me, he who rejects you rejects me and he who rejects me rejects Him who SENT me
Luke 10:16

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who receives you receives me; and he who receives me receives Him who SENT me.”
John 13:20

“And this is eternal life that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have SENT.
John 17:3

“That they all may be one, as you, father are in me and I in you; that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that you SENT me.
John 17:21

“For I have come down from heaven not to do my own will, but the will of Him who SENT me.
John 6:14

Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not mine, but his who SENT me.
John 7:16

Then Jesus cried out as he taught in the temple, saying, “You both know me, and you know where I am from; and I have not come of my self, but he who SENT me is true, whom you do not know.
John 7:29

“But I know him, for I am from him, and he SENT me.”
John 7:29

“Who ever ….; and who ever receives me, receives NOT ME but Him who SENT me.”
Mark 9:37

Some one may consider John 17:21 as evidence that Jesus and God are the same, but if that is what the verse means, then it will also mean that Disciples (Man), Jesus and God are also the same because it also says “...that they also may be one in us,…” And I believe the disciples are not gods.
If you do believe that he was sent by some one, then who is that ‘some one’?
Do you think that ‘some one’ should be superior to Jesus?
How can you differentiate that ‘some one’ from Jesus Christ?

The Law of Identity states that A=A because A has all of the neccessary properties and qualities of A.

A dog can't have the properties of a computer and still be a dog.

The Trinity, seems to suggest, that while Jesus IS God, he doesn't have all the neccessary attributes of God (such as omniscience).

Does this make the Trinity, by definition, illogical?

Ok - so maybe Jesus, Mohammad, Abraham and others all had specific details about what they taught that were unique. But don't people unerstand that when they said stuff like "I am the way", or "follow me", they were speaking AS GOD, and not as themselves? Didn't they all say to worship and follow God, and not them?

Check out this little note we just received about our Christmas gala next week here at work:

"Please note that a decision has been made to remove the psychics from the program. It was brought to our attention that several employees were uncomfortable with this form of entertainment as it may conflict with certain religious beliefs. Our vendor has assured us that these "entertainers" are there to provide some light hearted enjoyment. However, we remain committed to respecting the diversity of our employees and do not wish to make anyone feel uncomfortable with any of the activities we had planned."

I read these questions/answer and you guys go at so viciously. Why? Does it really matter. why can't either respect the other? I must admit some 'christian' answers are so extreme and biasist, ins't the 'christian' way to be tolerant and forgiving? And atheist aren't you suppose to be more open-minded and not care about religion?
