Because when your reasoning is based on faith, and not measurable data, it cannot be supported with facts.
That means defense of faith based positions causes people to argue and fight using rhetoric instead of reason.
This leads to violence, because at the end of the day, if you don't have data backing your argument, you have to resort to using aggressive tactics.
Most religious do, either with demeaning rhetoric about other religions and atheists, or with actual violence and death.
That is why faith based religion is so dangerous.
Most Christians disagree with this position and state that they are really about love and freedom, but when asked what happens to non believers, they explain that they will be killed by Jesus at the end times, and sent to hell for eternal torture. That is what Christianity is really about, and the reason it is just as violent as all the rest.
You can see examples of this all over R&S just read what Christians think of Islam and what the Muslims deserve. Its right there people, open your eyes.
Religion is dangerous.

Too hard to answer. I don't have time to read, let alone study all the prophets. I think there are differences in the punishments. It seems to me we get hung up inthe negative and forget to embrace the positive ie Unconditional Love and Forgiveness (emphasis on forgiveness).

you are right, they all pretty much said "follow my version of the fairy tale".
so if we follow the original version of the grim brothers story, the disney version or some other version, its all ok because its all the same thing.
good point.
