I'm offended by the whole "He's the reason sor the season," attitude. Season is the reason for the season. The yule celebration was co-opted by relious tyrants who needed to stay relevant to people with far stronger traditions than what any christian authority could provide.
Happy Yule tide.

It's all about them, don't you know? Apparently, they are at the center of the universe. I don't know what I am because I don't practice a religion. I don't think it makes a bad person because the truth be told, the time and the money it costs to even go to Church is beyond my means. After seeing a church official come to my parents' home and ask for money, then criticize what my parents gave, just left a very bad taste in my mouth. My parents were not regulars to the Church.
Who cares. Say what you want to say. I say both, Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas. It encompasses everything and good cheer. :) (Happy Holidays does. Merry Christmas only refers to one day.)

Why is it most of the negative questions about christians make big generalisations and imply it is all christians who think in whatever way they are unhappy about?
i am christian and i have never found people saying other things than merry christmas offensive and to non-christians friends and family we always make sure their card is a seansons greetings one, even though i dont think they are bothered by someone saying merry christmas.

Christians are a majority in the united states.
I think its great that they say Happy Holiday's to make it all-inclusive and all that.
But I can see how it would bother some people when they don't say "merry Christmas"
It's like some don't have the balls to say "Merry Christmas" when thats clearly what they mean.
Others really do mean "Happy Holidays,( and it makes no difference what religion you are. )"
I think it depends alot on who's saying it, and why they choose to say one thing over the other.

I agree. I say Happy Holidays not because I have a personal vendetta and I'm out against Christmas, but rather because there many holidays being celebrated during the month of December.

Well, I don't know about other countries, but in the US it is like this because the media portrays Christmas as the only holiday. It is the most important, who cares about all the other stupid little holidays. Everything is about Christmas. Commercials advertising new products never advertise them for Hanukkah, they advertise them for Christmas. Hell, go to Wal-Mart right now and you will NOT find one single Hanukkah item (Not even appropriate menorah candles), but you can find a whole section in the back full of Christmas decorations. It's ridiculous.

its not a monopoly and also say christmas for goodness sakes. 80% of this country is christian. And its not only christians that wish it to be said, it is also athiest, muslims, and other groups. Its political correctness going to far. You can't say that cause it may offend someone? who does saying Merry christmas offend? Most muslims aren't offend by it, either are jewish, and even atheist aren't offend so just say Merry christmas and move on and its once a year?

I do not think that the commercial happy holidays or merry christmas really matter. People offend me that just look for something to complain about.

I think it's offensive when anybody doesn't feel comfortable enough to openly celebrate their beliefs. I used to work in retail and we'd get in trouble if we said merry christmas instead of happy holidays. I'm proud of my beliefs and I'm not going to stop wishing people a merry christmas because I really want them to have a merry christmas. It doesn't matter to me what other people say.
