Interestingly, many scientists do not believe in god, but they believe in evolution. But notice what the Bible says about intellectual ones...
Matthew 11:25- At that time Jesus said in response: “I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to babes.
The reason many do not believe in the Bible is because they do not want to be accountable to anything higher than themselves. Pride gets in the way. So if a person is going to believe in God and the Bible, they need to be humble.
2 Corinthians 4:3,4- If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.

For all who apparently think that being a babe is a bad thing that means that you are less intelligent or stupid, perhaps you are the ones who are stupid. Again, pride is getting in your way. 'Pride is before a crash' according to the Bible. Being a babe illustrates the innocence of the person who god reveals himself to. The Bible also says that God 'draws those whom he wants,' so if you are not being drawn by Him, I feel sorry for you, but a change of heart to being humble and like a babe may have you searching in the right place and God would draw you too.
And for whoever said that the Bible says that the earth is flat... you are the biggest idiot on the list of answers. The Bible says two things about the earth... that it hangs upon nothing and that it is the circle of the earth. If people read their Bibles back when they thought the earth was flat, they may have actually gotten it right back then.

Matthew 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
This also proves that the Earth is really flat. How else would someone make all kingdoms skeweth if the planet was round?!
Great job, obviously the writers of the Bible knew exactly what was going to happen since they were so insightful.

"The reason many do not believe in the Bible is because they do not want to be accountable to anything higher than themselves. Pride gets in the way".
Now that's just simply an arrogant lie. Doesn't the fact that you have to lie so much to defend your beliefs make you wonder about the quality of those beliefs? It should.

Atheism has nothing to do with not wanting to be held accountable for our actions. If I'm to take what you're saying seriously, you believe that everyone believes in your God but some people decide to pretend not to because they want an excuse to live immoral lives. That's pretty offensive, and not even remotely humble on your part.

In the 90's, some guy wrote a bunch of vague prophecies to debunk Nostradamus. On September 11, 2001, one of them began being circulated around the internet as one of Nostradamus' prophecies fulfilled.
If you write a bunch of vague prophecies and wait 2000 years, someone might think you were right.

''... among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers ...'' No comment. Enough said.
I ain't gonna stroke imaginery being's ego, but thanks anyway.
Of course we fulfill Bible's ''prophecy.'' Just like there are verses in the Bible which talk about believers who will be persecuted by our type. A great stimulans to fall into the claws of persecution complex!
Puhlease.

No I would say the reason so many do not believe in the bible is that it has shown itself to be just another collection of parables and myths. It contains no concrete, viable, or provable information at all.

Wow, so someone made a prediction that people would eventually NOT believe that the earth was flat, zombies exists and that some big guy in the sky is watching everyone like a creepy stalker?
Self-fulfilling prophecy, man.

Of course there are (and always have been) people who don't believe in a particular religion, not just one of the numerous christian religions. You don't have to be a "prophet" to know that. But, you do have to be gullible to believe that lack of belief proves the christian bible to be valid.
