I just discovered I have psychic abilities, I get premonitions in my dreams and they almost always come true. I am a christian, I have believed in God since I was in the first grade. Will he look down on me because I am psychic? Is being psychic from the devil? Or is this a gift from God?

Any god worthy of worship would not look down on someone for something that is not their fault.

It could actually be either. The Bible talks of many Christian and/or Jewish prophets who had "psychic" abilities of some sort. Having premonitions, prophetic dreams, and psychic ability is not necessarily evil. It can be a gift from God as well.
I am not the correct one to just what your abilities are or where the ycome from, but I do know enough to know that Chistian and psychic are not always mutually exclusive.

Psychic ability in itself is yet to be proved. Most self-proclaimed psychics are experiencing conditional, coincidental effects that they project as psychic abilities. If the psychics that said they were could really see the future, they wouldn't charge $5-10 per reading (They'd be billionaire lottery winners themselves).
So called psychic ability is a branch of necromancy, which is not looked kindly upon.
Jesus mentioned how the 'dead know nothing' as they are asleep until the Resurrection. Such things as necromancy and psychic powers are to be questioned, at the very least.

The Gift is from God, I too have been given this gift and have helped countless people. Only God is 100% right so don't worry about not being perfect..its a human thing. Jesus was also psychic ...he knew about the Crucifixion before it happened. Please ask God not to give you any information that you can't do anything about. I saw a bus crash in Mexico and live in Canada...I asked and now God has stopped showing me thing that I have no way to help. Like healers, the power is Gods..we are just the transmitters. Theres so much of our brains that lay dormant, whos to say that once in a while a few of us, accidentally or with practice, cant tap into a portion of it? I believe that sometimes we are given a small gift, the ability to excercise parts of our brains, as a muscle, that dont normally receive massaging. I dont believe that it necessarily from the devil unless it is used for evil purposes. I do think its possible that God would give us a tool or two to give us an edge in life. What we do with it is our choice, and of course he is hoping you will choose to use it wisely and responsibly. Always know though, as a believer such as myself, God is the alpha and omega and only through him do we have the ability to do anything. As long as he recieves he rightful glory in all that you do, I would say use it and use it well.

if being psychic is from the devil ...
then all the mothers who save their kids lives because they " know " something is wrong ...
all the birds who fly from the forests before a bush fire...
all the animals who run before an earthquake...
etc etc etc
are also from the devil
no , being psychic is nothing more than heightened awareness
if anything it is as God given as any other sense is

I think it's a gift if you use it for good. There were prophets in biblical times too. I once read that everyone has psychic abilities but only certain people are more " in tune " with it. I have a few Sylvia Brown books and they are so intresting. Maybe you should read one of her books and it could help you understand it more.

Being psychic isn't something that comes from an outside power, from what I understand. Its an ability that you are either born with, or you can learn to develop. It comes from within you.
The real question should be how you use this ability. The only good or evil lies in your intentions and your actions. Are you going to use it to help people, or to cheat them out of their money, for example.

It seems to me that you have a gift from God, just like Joseph (the one with the multicolored coat, not Jesus's foster father)and Daniel in the Bible. They could both interpret dreams and became very successful because of their gifts.
