I just asked a question of how old people think the world / modern men are. I noticed a lot of poeple put 6000 years. How do you then explain dinosaurs and human remains found to be hundreds of thousands of years old? Also what tells you the world is 6000 years old?

"Pay attention in the history class dude"

I know what I think I'm asking others "dude" it amuses me that people think the world is that young. I, myslelf believe that it is billions of years old and men are obviously waaay older than 6000 years

Answers like these are a never ending source of amusement for me.... C'mon wacko's!!

My guess is you'll get a bunch of stuff about dino's living with people in harmony.... fossils all being made by the flood.... radiocarbon dating being totally inaccurate (but a 2000 year old transcript is taken as unquestionable truth...lol)...

Dang it!! I think we scared 'em all away.

You should ask sometime about how they explain the creosote bushes in Arizona. There are several that are over 11,000 years old and still living.... nevermind, I think I might ask that one myself.

The methods used to determine the age of fossils and geologic formations is a complete guess. Radiometric dating has been proven to be grossly inaccurate when the age of the sample is known yet it is trusted when the age is unknown because there is nothing to refute the assertion. This makes no sense at all. Dinosaurs existed but the assertion that they lived millions of years ago is not credible. I have even heard people say that they believe the age of dinosaurs to be accurate at millions of years old because of Carbon14 dating clearly showing that those people do not know what they are talking about.

When I was a boy, I read many books that Mom's father had. He was both a preacher and a teacher in public schools. One of his books had Bishop James Ussher's figures that creation was in 4004 BCE. That makes the universe and our planet 6011 years old now. Other Bible scholars did the same Bible study and arrived at figures of about 3780 to 5760 BCE for Genesis creation. There were also science books that said earth is 4,700,000,000 years old. At the age of 7, it seemed to me that the science books had much strong evidence for their figure, but the Bible account was just as silly as "Grimm's Fairy Tales." The Bible cannot really explain dinosaurs at all, and I saw that at age 7. My sister never will though.

The only ones who say 6000 years are young earth creationists.
They refuse to accept any proof that says the world is older than that.
Sad really.

Another thing, if humans and dinosaurs existed at the same time, then why do we not find human fossils and dinosaur fossils in the same layers. They are never found together.

In fact, certain dinosaur fossils are never found in the same layers. Dinosaur fossils and mammoth fossils are never found in the same layers. How odd? If all of these creatures existed at the same time then they should be found together.

In Texas you can find mammoth fossils and dinosaur fossils but never in the same location or in the same layers.

Ummm, Kiki-la, I am not saying that dinosaurs and mammoths existed at the same time. I am saying that they existed at different times and that is why you cannot find their fossils in the same layers. If you read my answer you will see that I am asking why do they not exist in the same layers. The only plausible answer is that they did not exist at the same time.

Clearly, Earth is more than 6,000 years old. It is also clear that dinosaurs roamed this Earth and became extinct after serving their purpose.

If you had done some research A.Mercer, then you would understand that mammoths and different types of dinosaurs lived in different eras.

Why is this debate STILL going on? We have PROOF that dinosaurs existed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
