I'm always intrigued that many non believers will cry foul if they perceive they are being judged. And rightly so. And yet by professing morality, do you think they understand that by posting questions that specifically bait the answerer into either offering a sarcastic comment or remark, or which succeeds in raising the ire of those they call "fundies", that their professed morality can come then under question - and RIGHTLY so?
the answerers can be believers or non believers, liberal or "fundie". It doesn't matter. The person whose question it is has the obvious intent of mocking those with whom they disagree.... - doesn't this make them just as "fundie" as the "fundies"?
What are your thoughts?

I am wondering what the creation stories are in Judaism..

2007-10-30 15:51:07 · 7 answers · asked by Lorkenobre 1

then why is it still only a THEORY? why not make it law? the same goes with the Big Bang, it is a THEORY, not law.
why wont people accept that? Creationism is also a theory, why cant people accept that? why must ppl be so condemning?

Sure, Christians do not accept evolutionists for their theory, but Christians doesnt have to. We believe through faith. However, the scientific community supposed to be based on actual evidence and science, not faith. So, they should stop saying that their's is the truth for something that is only a THEORY.

To put it another way, are there any scientists left who agree with Einstein when he professed his belief that God does not play dice? I would also like to know if I am mistaken in assuming these two questions (one involving uncertainty and the other dice) are just different ways of asking the same thing? If my assumption is incorrect, what incorrect premise or premises might I be suffering from?

Hosea 9:14-16 (NIV) (the prophet prays to the LORD!!!...) Give them, O LORD— what will you give them? Give them wombs that miscarry and breasts that are dry. (And God rushes to answer him on the spot!!!) "Because of all their wickedness in Gilgal, I hated them there. Because of their sinful deeds, I will drive them out of my house. I will no longer love them; all their leaders are rebellious. Ephraim is blighted, their root is withered, they yield no fruit. Even if they bear children, I will slay their cherished offspring."

(God always answers our prayer no matter how spontaneous, if we ask him “according to his will”!)

Jeremiah 16:3-4 (NIV) For this is what the LORD says about the sons and daughters* (*babies) born in this land and about the women who are their mothers and the men who are their fathers: "They will die of deadly diseases. They will not be mourned or buried but will be like refuse lying on the ground...

Does God know the little children before they are born?

I'm pretty sure it says no such thing, though many of you tend to believe it does. Please don't cite Jeremiah 1:5, read in context it says nothing of the sort.

So where, oh where, in the bible does it say that life begins directly after the act of successful coitus?

How about 1+1=2 How do you know it's right?

The wrong answers will be, because someone told you so; be it your father, mother , teacher, butcher, baker or the candlesticks maker.

If you can see it as it is so for yourself and it's not because someone pulled rank on you with titles and authority to enforce their will on you - you are being hynoptized and robbed from discovering Truth for yourself and has become a puppet on someone's string!

So what's the right answer?

Could it be that, Truth is something you have always known in your heart; given to you by your Creator, but Men's education have educated and robbed you away from the truth that's in your heart from the very beginning when you were born and replaced it with rote and dead knowledge (through words and language)?

What say you all?

I don't know exactly what it is, but the idea is harming the earth is bad.
My uncle uses this as a major part of his argument but can't remember where it was. His words,

"God will destroy those destroying the earth." He then says it means that if you drive a car, your destroying the earth, then it goes from there.

So is there a verse like this anywhere, or anything similar to this?

You can date it back by saying Jesus lived 2000yr ago and then look in Mark (i think) to gt his family tree and dating that back.

All Christians should believe this because,
If Christians dont believe in the bible then, why should anyone else.

The gospels of Matthew and Mark include an account of Jesus withering a fig tree. In (Matthew 21:18–22) and Mark (Mark 11:12–14 and Mark 20-24), Jesus and some associates are leaving Bethany when Jesus approaches a fig tree to collect fruit from it. Since it is the wrong season, there are no figs. Seeing this, Jesus curses the fig tree to never bear fruit again. In Mark, the next day Simon Peter notices that the fig tree has withered. In Matthew, the fig tree withers immediately and is noticed at that time by unnamed disciples.

If an angel from heaven suddenly became visible to you as you were sitting alone, what would your reaction be? An ancient saint admonished Christians in these words: "In every area ... in every corner, pay a respect to your angel. Dare not do before him what you dare not do before others. Consider with how great respect, awe, and modesty we ought to behave in the sight of the angels lest we offend their holy eyes and render ourselves unfit for their company. Woe to us if they who could chase away our enemy would be offended by our negligence and deprive us of their visit."

First of all i would like to start by saying that by transsexual i do not mean a transvestite or a drag queen (people who simply dress up as the opposite gender for whatever reason, but live their day to day life in the gender they were born in) but i do mean actualy transgender person. Aka a person with a real medical condition whereby they feel since when they were a child that they were born into the wrong body, and when they don't seek treatment it often either ends with a suicide or a serious mental break down. Or individuals who are born intersexed (aka with no clear male or female genetal, in which case the parents are usually asked to choose the child's gender, and the child usually either accepts it for life or rebels against it later).

Ok so now that this is sorted for the actual question. I watched a documentary on television about transgender people, dealing with their personal relationships, and how their transition affected/affects their loved ones. To be continued...

Faith is the belief in things not seen. An Evolutionist cannot see the past, and cannot prove the Big Bang. It is just a theory.

Is not his faith even more radical than a Christians? He certainly is more insecure about it.
