I agree with it because as a christian there are many fools who preach good and make the religion look worse then what it actually is.
Look at George W. Bush he preaches god into his politics now half the world thinks Bush is on a religious crusade against Islam and that America is some crazy christian land.

The quote gave me a little chuckle and has a bit of truth to it. It's not a coincidence that religiosity is negatively correlated with educational attainment and IQ.
