Proverbs 15:13
A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.
John 14:23
Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
Romans 15:30
I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.
Jude 1:21
Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
Ecclesiastes 7 - (NIV)
Wisdom
1 A good name is better than fine perfume,
and the day of death better than the day of birth.
2 It is better to go to a house of mourning
than to go to a house of feasting,
for death is the destiny of every man;
the living should take this to heart.
3 Sorrow is better than laughter,
because a sad face is good for the heart.
4 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning,
but the heart of fools is in the house of pleasure.
5 It is better to heed a wise man's rebuke
than to listen to the song of fools.
6 Like the crackling of thorns under the pot,
so is the laughter of fools.
This too is meaningless.
I hope this helps some. -I will say a prayer for you as well.
-God Bless.

Well, Psalms 121 might be a good start. Also, if you go to joycemeyer.org, in the search window type depression. You will find a wonderful article with scripture references about victory over depression.
Hope this helps and know that you are not alone. ALL of us go through such periods, but keep in mind that satan wants to take your mind off of God so this is just another one of his tactics to achieve this.

read anything that jesus said and read some psalms but most importantly you cant just read your bible and hope that an answer will come if that were the case we would all be head long into scripture the most important part of it all is that you have to trust god and when things get really tough you just have to give it to god and trust that he will help you dont dwell on things when you pray give it to god say what you need to say and then say amen and leave your problems there once you do that they are no longer yours

Songs of Solomon may be considered the "taboo" book of the OT, but think about how strong the love is between Him and His Beloved. It's beautiful. Also remember that David suffered from depression as did many other Biblical heroes, but they did find hope. I love the book Captivating by John and Stasi Eldredge.

When I am feeling down, I always read Psalms. Remember that God is near to the broken-hearted.

Psalm 30:5 - "For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."
Psalm 46:1 - "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
I pray these two scriptures bring you comfort. God bless you!

Depression and sadness are temporary conditions....call on God to help you understand and lean on Him for strength. May the peace of the Lord be with you.
