Who can take communion? Should only the serious church members, or anyone who wants to? Some in my church come once in a while and take communion, is that right? How about guests? In my opinion, communion is a holy thing, and only the church members should take it. I want to know your opinion. Please let me know. Thank you.

if God really showed you that Islam even though so strict is the real religion, will you convert after knowing all your buddies will not convert because they like the freedom of all other religion has to offer, free sex, incest, alcohol, anything they fancy and pretend that their sins will be forgiven by the priest in the churches and everything will be all right.

If we emerged from a pool of primordial ooze after being struck by lightening and created by mere chance. What chance is it that we are on this Earth for a purpose. We live, we die, we become extinct. For no purpose unless we evolve into a higher life form which seems unlikely. It seems we have stretched eveloution to our limit. It is more likely the cockroach will take over from here. How many say we can take it one more notch and how many are for the cockroach?

Perhaps somewhere along the line God divided himself into and Satan came from God. Maybe God created an adversay from himself? What do you think?

The now-famous Vatican Hill (Latin Collis Vaticanus) is northwest of the Tiber and is not one of the Seven Hills of Rome. Likewise, the Pincian Hill (Latin Mons Pincius), to the north, and the Janiculum Hill (Latin Ianiculum), to the west, are not counted among the traditional Seven Hills.

Of the Seven Hills of current Rome, five (Aventine, Caelian, Esquiline, Quirinal and Viminal hills) are populated with monuments, buildings, and parks. The Capitoline now hosts the Municipality of Rome, and the Palatine Hill is an archaeological area. Note that the Vatican hill is not one of the "seven hills" of Rome, as it is located on the opposite side of the river Tiber.

The city of Constantinople (now Istanbul) was built on seven hills, after the city of Rome.

So how can you say the Catholic Church is the one mentioned in Revelations?

The biggest challenge to change is entrenched dogma. Once a belief has been maintained and reinforced long enough, it cannot be changed via reason.

But why is this?

Lets suppose I took an entire town and had every parent raise every newborn child with a "revised" bible. In this new bible, everything would be REVERSED. God would be evil, and Satan would be good. Hell would be a reward, and heaven a punishment. Same basic story except everything would be backwards. To completely innocent minds, they could not know the difference, and with no exposure to outside thinking, they never would.

Fast forward ten generations. Their belief system is now as certain as yours. They believe Satan is as good as you believe god is.

Do you have ANY chance of convincing them otherwise?
Wouldn't your assertions that god is their savior sound as insane to them as someone declaring to you that Satan is your savior?

This is why you cannot "save" people, or "bring" them to Christianity.

Get it?

yesterday someone posted a question on psychics that work for the police or F.B.I. Every atheist that responded said this ability does not exist. I'm the first to admit most are fraudulent, but there does seem to be some genuine psychics. Out of curiosity, I was wondering if the atheists here tonight feel the same way.

It doesn't seem to be working. I've had a problem with alcohol 4 8 years now and have been married for 11. My wife and I have fallen into the habbit of fighting when we drink (she also has an alcohol problem). The problem is that I physically and mentally abuse her when i'm drunk and start fighting almost 3x a week. So, i decided to turn to God 6 months ago and it's not working. I gave her a blood lip and a bruised cheek the other day...i need help as i'm beginning to lose faith.
