I am not an atheist, but I am amazed by the answers to this question. Are they implying the law enforcement community nationwide has been fooled? Sorry, that's not believable. I know the CIA and the KGB utilized psychics for decades.Night after night one can witness psychics on court TV right along side of detectives who readily admit their abilities are uncanny. Talk about refusing to accept reality!

There has never been a single documented instance of a psychic providing any useful information to the police. Not one.
I believe that on rare occasions the human mind can calculate and incredibly huge number of possible outcomes to a situation and select the most statistically likely one. This is done unconsciously and at super fast speeds. When these calculations turn out to be correct, people believe them to be supernatural or psychic in origin. They are--just a natural process working with uncommon speed and accuracy.

I'm not exactly an athiest...I believe in a god, I just think it doesn't matter and that anything you have read or heard is just words of men...so the God we talk about is more of a concept of something we can't define....so with that in mind, it could be possible that some people have some sort of ability...but that ability is probably extremely unpredictable and basically useless even if it does exist....some people just convince themselves they have some sort of gift...I'm basically a "prove it to me" or "give me some logical thought backing that up" kind of guy, whether you're talking about the Loch Ness Monster, faeries, God or anything...Certainly there are things outside of my understanding or awareness...but it doesn't seem to be something that I should worry about...People evolved from other people that survived (sometimes by basically flipping a coin) there could be something in us, a survivor's gene that helps us make decisions that lead us to safety, but I'm sure the statistics wouldn't show it...but statistics don't tell the whole story. How's that for a maybe?
Even if I'm pretty sure that God doesn't live around here...I do believe that life itself is very powerful...I'm more inclined to believe in the power of people than to claim it is from a spirit world. If there are any real mysteries it would be based in this world...if there is any magic, it is natural and from life and the world we live in...not from dead people.

Atheists and agnostics are skeptics by nature. They don't believe in God because they have seen no definitive evidence for His existence. In the same way, there is no definitive evidence for psychic abilities such as ESP, so most atheists do not believe in psychic abilities either. Some may, however, but few, if any do.

Not only do they not believe that these powers exist but to them they are evil and wrong doing. I have a friend who is a minister's wife and she is very fervent about this but we simply agree to differ, she does not lecture me and I do not spout on about my beliefs. To find out if YOU are psychic and what to do about it go to my source.

I agree that most psychics you see are truly frauds. However, I believe there are those with true ability. I have been known to experience precognition. It is something that I cannot completely control.
The mind is a very complex organ and there are things no one can explain.

I do believe that James Randi has put up $1 Million to anybody who can present verifiable evidence of any supernatural abilities. That money's been up for years, and nobody's claimed it. I don't believe in any gods because they're supernatural beings, so why would I believe in anything else supernatural?

No it does NOT exist. If it did the psychic would just give the name, address, or any detailed information needed. Since they don't it is just a con like religion and all the other cons.

I have no adequate knowledge about psychics so I won't say there aren't any skilled ones in case I'm miserably wrong. I've never met one, but then, I've never met everyone in the world.
