I believe it describes secular humanism.
I belong to the Catholic Church and there is nothing "anti-Christ" about it. It's a popular notion of the anti-Catholic bunch...but hardly makes it a good one.
The Bible also says the anti-Christ will lead the very elect astray. Since the Bible-Fundamentalist believe themselves to be the very elect and they are the most anti-Catholic...how could this biblical statement be true if in fact the anti-Christ was the Catholic Church? It couldn't be! So, that means the anti-Christ is someone or something else.

It is the confusion of European protestantism, complete with a false type of communion, and reliance on 50,000 individual and different interpretations of scripture.
The woman riding the beast (Europa) can be found sculpted on the lawn of the EU Headquarters in Brussels, and the EU Southern Parliament Building in Strassbourg, France is an authentic replica of the Tower of Babel.
Put all these together and you have all the makings of the old Babylonian mystery religion ... in place ... and just waiting for the rise of the false prophet and the anti-christ ... both of whom will be assisted and closely supported by the Christian Zionists.

I also believe what the word of GOD Say's in REVELATION 17: 4 ---18: 4 --- 6: 2 --- that they are the whore of REVELATION! if they can't see it, then: they are truly blind. also DANIEL 7: 25 the changing of times and laws (THE BEAST THAT WAS, YET IS NOT, YET IS) ---The woman is arrayed in PURPLE and SCARLET, HAS A GOLDEN CUP, THINKS TO CHANGE TIMES and LAWS, for many shall come in my name, (popes) the pope considers himself GOD and JESUS here in this world, there are many other thing's besides the word of GOD that point's to them, why do they continue their abomination against GOD! is really something to FATHOM! If they would make sense of it and learn to read the word of GOD maybe they would have a chance to be found worthy! but only by leaving that church is there hope for THEM thanks for the question! (for my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge)!

There will be a one world government, one world church sitting on seven hills ( i won't say the name, because there are millions of followers who believe they are worshipping correctly and I pray they come out of her) and there will be the Anti-christ. The real question is....... how much longer do we have before it happens...............if you are ready to delve deeper then read this:http://www.rense.com/general69/ism.htm

Neither. It will be the Anti-Christ's church. Those others have not been created my one person as revelation states. It will be a truly evil organization and none now can compare.

...I believe the Evil system is made up of all and any people who oppress and want control...I don't limit the system to only having members of any particular group like religion, or race, or anything like that...I suppose how I can see why you veiw the Vatican that way though....

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered died and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
the Catholic Church is not the antichrist comes from Sacred Scripture itself. St. John, in his first epistle, wrote:
Children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come; therefore we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out, that it might be plain that they all are not of us. But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all know. I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and know that no lie is of the truth. Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. (1 Jn 2:18-22)
