... and yet they always criticize the Jews and Christians for having the Torah and Bible changed/modified? I mean, whenever we ask Moslems back the foundation of that argument, Moslems always answer: "According to Mohammed..." or "It's written in Koran that..." or "Allah condemns them..."

Give me a break! Is there any archeological proof, or any logical argument here? And not such typical argument like because it's written in a book that or a figure (real or not) said that...? Without any strong evidence, those argument is kind of non-sensical one, isn't it?

As a Christian I belive that I should live my life to serve and worship God.

What is the reason for an atheist to get up in the morning.

If life was going badly and there was no-one there for you, what would be the point of carrying on?

For people who give stupid one sentance answers: what would you do if in the situation above?

I read that a man won a lawsuit against them for picketing his son's funeral. That is good. I bring that up because that prompted me to learn a little more about them besides what was in the news. So I went to their site and found something brewing that had me chilled to the bone.

It wasn't any one thing but a combination of different observations.

1 - Their children gleefully kick around the US flag and proclaim the hateful doctrines with childlike laughter and glee. They may only picket now but how about a few more generations of this, what will it become?

2 - They all get happy and excited when people die. I will explain this in a minute...

3 - Phelps himself gives me the creeps. I watched one of his videos and it is the first time in a very long time that I felt a spiritual hatred coming from someone.

4 - They believe they are commanded by God himself to cheer death of people by taking certain old testament verses out of context during Israel's wars.

In another question I saw a muslim man say that a reward in Heaven is 72 Virgins. Are these virgins real women from Earth, like us?

He also said that it's accepted in the islamic world that more men that women will reach Heaven. With 72 women per man, the numbers aren't adding up. Are these extra women magiced up? Are they nothing more than possesions like a house or a car?

From the perspective of Christians, are Christians actually the Jews? Meaning that Christians are the inheritors of all of the covenants, responsibilities, and promises from God in the Old Testament? The only difference being the added, new Covenant is present, having been brought by Christ?

There are many Evangelical Christians groups that support the nation of Israel. They preach that Israel is important in prophecy and the fact that the Jews are there is significant and might indicate something about unfolding prophecy. But aren't modern day Christians, in fact, Jews themselves?

I realise that Christianity is an 'offshoot' of first century Judaism, but it would seem that from an historical perspective Christians are no less Jews. I know this could be a controversial question as the next glaring question would then be: what is the status of modern day Jews? But of course this would be no different a question for Christians looking at any other religion.

Your thoughts?

In mathew; bystanders offer vinager and gall.
in mark; Wine and myrrh
In luke; it's the soldiers that offer vinager.
In john; nothing is offered, But jesus is stabbed with a spear which is not mentioned in other three gospels.Could this have been made up to ensure that nobody doubted that jesus actually died?
As you progress through the gospels Pilate becomes less willing and the jews more determined to cruxcify jesus.
Would a christian not see this as evidence that the romans corrupted the truth to show themselves in a more favourable light. And make all the gospels invalid?

I read about this today(court case decision announced): In 2006, Kansas Baptists from Westboro attended the funeral of a US Marine who died in Iraq. A US MARINE WHO DIED FIGHTING IN IRAQ !!! (just wanted to be clear about that). They cheered his death at the funeral, and paraded signs saying "You're going to Hell" and "God hates you" ...at his funeral... a US marine who died in Iraq. Why ? Because he was Gay.
No matter how against your religion homosexuality is, you do not go to a funeral and do these things, not if you claim to be Christian. How did it ever come to this ? If they'd have stopped to ask "What would Jesus do ?" , surely He would simply have prayed for the marines' soul.

Scenario:

You're a devout church going Christian and you've just discovered that your son or daughter is expressing disbelief in God and is on the verge of becoming an atheist or agnostic. Fortunately, a new drug has become available at your local apothecary that leaves you slightly more open minded to supernatural ideas without any other side effects or risks.

Do you give these to your kid to renew their belief in God?

I have heard on thes forum before that Immanual is a man given name and not in the bible. I have just read in the prophesies of Isiah 7:14 that Immanual will be born of a virgin. This is a direct point of reference that the JW's should take special note of along with John 10:30.

And will make him ['Iesa (Jesus)] a Messenger to the Children of Israel (saying): "I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, that I design for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allâh's Leave; and I heal him who was born blind, and the leper, and I bring the dead to life by Allâh's Leave. And I inform you of what you eat, and what you store in your houses. Surely, therein is a sign for you, if you believe.

1 Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. 2 As men moved eastward, [a] they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.
3 They said to each other, "Come, let's make bricks and bake them thoroughly." They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. 4 Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth."

5 But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building. 6 The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."

8 So the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. 9 That is why it was called Babel —because there the LORD confused the language of the whole wor
