When Jesus was on the Cross the man asked for forgiveness because he truly believed Jesus was the savior. Jesus gave it to him, he died shortly after.

Does this mean that there were 2 people that died sinless lives?

it seems to me that every god you ever heard of, plus ALL of the ones you haven't, have this invaluable super power in common. does this not strike you as odd? how does a theist explain that?

and people who claim to see and hear god don't count in the voting...

Hello, all:

Since it seems to be the hot topic this evening... what do you dislike most about the Westborough Baptist Church?

For me, it would have to be the way they obsess about sex and use some of the filthiest language I've ever heard come out of a Christian's mouth, and yet dare to try claiming the moral high ground.

How about you?

you are more LIVELY and more DESPERATE,
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date.
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is HER gold complexion dimmed;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing INTERcourse untrimmed.
But your eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st;
Nor shall death brag thou magic wand in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou groSS'st,
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to ME.

was this English poet has been change lately, after 500 years?

or should we use its original languages?

There are exceptions I would suppose. Someone who is terribly disfigured in an automobile accident or is badly burned. Birth defects or if someone needs rhinoplasty due to breathing problems. But for vanity's sake? I dunno. Some people go to the extreme. What do you think?

First do you believe a person can confess their sins directly to God without a priest.

Second am I correct in understanding that you see the priest as a representative of God in the confessional? You basically see it as confessing directly to God. And the priest is not actually forgiving your sins but merely telling you that you have been forgiven.

Third what would happen if someone like me went to confession? I am a protestant but I was baptized in the Catholic church as a baby. Also before anyone asks I mean if someone went and was respectful and not there as a joke or a lark.

Because if they did find life, the Bible does not talk about God creating life on other planes. Do you think that it would disprove the Bible?

I just asked: "What does serving God imply?"

The most popular answers were those that referred to helping others.

Earlier, I asked what the purpose of life is. The most popular answer was serving God.

So: We're here to serve God, by helping those that are also here??

But.. when you think about it, if we weren't here, our purpose wouldn't need to be served; without people, there would be no one to help, and no reason to serve God.

Basically, from what all of YOU have told me, our existence CREATES our purpose to exist.

Does this make any more sense than the last post; any thoughts??
