I agree! The only religion I subscribe to is "Love". All the other religious ideologies I can do without. I think it is more important that man depend on his own evolutionary future than believing in a Deity such as a God. If you notice God does not speak for himself but there is no shortage of men willing to speak on his behalf. Still to this very day man cannot fully agree on the meaning of the text in a bible. If there was indeed a God I am sure he would understand how experiences, education, and indoctrination affect the human condition. If God was truly all powerful he would have left a better way for us to know his existence. Because of these variables I can't believe in the rigid text of all the major religions. It doesn't add up if you really sit and think about it but you do have to indeed think and not just depend on faith and beliefs for understanding.

This is a very inflammatory question that will no doubt be viewed as offensive by many of the people on the R&S board.
I myself do think that modern society would be better off without so many confusing and outdated religions that contradict each other and themselves, but at the same I respect the fact that some people need religion for guidance and comfort. Religion-fueled events have both positive and negative outcomes, just as all events do, and if someone would like to follow a religion for confidence, solace, and the motivation to help others than I'm happy for them. It's only a bad thing when it causes violence, hatred, and deception.

Agree to what? That you are an ignoramus? That I agree completely.
Societies past or present are build on religion you moron!
Every way you look at it, and is not a concept is an organized system. The concepts are the beliefs of such religions.

Well, that's exactly what the comunists and masons said in the XIX and XX centuries.
In Italy those guys said that with the guts of the last pope they would hang the last king.
Well, the king of Italy disappeared more than 50 years ago, but not the pope. And the comunists, everybody knows what has happened to almost all of them.
The very few that are still breathing it is a matter of waiting for nature to follow its normal way and wait a little more
With you the same, just wait for a few more years

That's because there's a lot of stupid people out there that don't have there heads in line with the ideals of a modern society. They're living in the past. They are complete slaves to their emotions and want to believe that they are better than everyone else .They want a pacifier for their f***ed up life. It can all be explained by psychology. What we really need is a psychological means to put an end to it.

I agree totally.
I raised my daughter though, to thrill to the excitement of Christmas, leave milk and cookies for Santa, wake up and hunt for Easter eggs in her jammies and leave her tiny teeth under her pillow. She's 20 now and is brilliant, creative, imaginative and full of character.
I believe there's a vast difference between making my daughter's childhood a wondrous and magical one, though ... and teaching her that there is a closet she can walk through to a heavenly world called Narnia with a god named Asslan who will refer to her as Daughter of Eve! Because it's make-believe!
I'm a grown adult and I know what makes common sense and what is fabrication. I raised my girl to use her head and not fall for simply anything anyone tells her in order to manipulate her to their way of thinking. Luckily, she says she will raise HER children to love the wonder of life and nature while resisting the temptation to be drawn into religion.

well let's see what started it all, the whackos who have
television shows and then get exposed for all the tax invasions and crap, big mouths like REVEREND Jessie
Jackson, Cults (which isn't all religion a cult since birds
of a feather flock together) and now you have the Catholic
Church which will never be repaired or respected again.
Notice when religion wasn't a subject everything was just
fine and people believed in what they believed in peacefully
Like having sex behind closed doors, it isn't anyone's business.

I don't agree with a democratic government having religious laws, however, I believe in God with all my heart. If I wasn't going to sin, I would move to a Christian theocracy.
Some religions seem like shams, but I don't believe that God is.
