Isn't this hypocritical? I'm sure some people will respond that as long as the priest does not act on his sexuality, it's O.K., but the bible states that even lusting in your heart is a sin, so is the priest sinning every day of his life?

of rape-(some disagree) The vast majority of abortions are NOT to save the life of the mother or due to rape, So, do you support the majority of abortions? If so, why? 2.Does the death penalty that takes a life differ from abortion ? If so, why? 3. Many Atheist feel that some of the deaths or executions (such as in 1Kings 18:40) are the fault of religion and wrongfully done. If you SUPPORT ABORTION -AND- if you feel that the "CHRISTIAN" religion is RESPONSIBLE for unwarranted DEATHS, how can you justify one but not the other? Millions of abortions will be preformed this year. I think the number of abortions preformed in just a FEW years, will outnumber the ALL deaths recorded in the Bible. Most Christian religions oppose abortion and some support the death penalty. If you feel Christians were wrong in Biblical accounts of some executions AND that religion is wrong in opposing abortion, WHY? How can you JUSTIFY the killing done in ABORTION but BLAME Chistianity for the other ?

i am in wonder why people have habits to believe all things about God and thier religious without any intension and accept almost all orders. even they are ready to kill people and theme selves. but if you say truth about life and science they can't accept it easily, and you should explain arround these subject and make it clear to be acceptable for people.

I know many protestants do not agree with praying to saints. But that is not the important part here. Whether you think praying to them is right or wrong is not my question. Someone in answer to one of my questions about Mary said "She is dead". Implying that asking her to pray for you is pointless because she is dead. Is any Christian ever truly dead? We pass from this life to life eternal with Jesus. I would almost say the Christians who are with Jesus are the one's who are really alive. So why call them dead?

Pope Benedict's proposal to name Mary Co-redemptrix (and a bunch of accompanying statements) has me in a tail spin but tonight I've come up with this and would like feedback (no bashing please - thank you)

Could Mary be the femine aspect of God, the Holy Spirit, incarnate as Jesus is the Son of God incarnate?

I recently read a book "Why I'm Catholic" by Gary Wills, a Jesuit-educated historian, in which this is hinted at. Wills presents in his book and observation that when looking for the Holy Spirit (Divine Femine) in the Roman Catholic doctrines and traditions, one finds Mary mother of Jesus/God instead. Well if the Son of God incarnate is Jesus, and God is 3 aspects in one (Father Son Holy Spirit) then why not Mary the incarnation of God the Holy Spirit as well?

I have three children who live with me that are in preschool. One is my biological daughter and the other two are my fiancee's sons. We didn't get custody of the boys until most of the preschools in town had filled up, but there was a court order that the children were to be in preschool. There was only one open slot at the school in town, so my daughter went there because my fiancee wanted to keep his boys together. They have been through a lot and one of them will be starting Kindergarten next year and the third boy is in Kindergarten and he had to be in tutoring because last year when their mom took them away she didn't put them in school. Anyways, the only place that had two open slots was at a church. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not anti religious or anything. I'm not even anti-Christian. But my daughter is already writing her letters and numbers and she brings home something she did every day, and the other two kids rarely, if ever, bring anything home. I will continue..

Things that we know are designed are designed for a purpose. This purpose is clearly evident in it's design: Scissors cut things, plumbing transports and delivers water, heaters provide heat, etc...

So, you believe we are designed. This assertion implies that we have a specific purpose. So the question is this: What is our purpose? If god designed us he must have done so to solve some problem he had. We must be a tool for some purpose, what is that purpose, and how is it evident in our design?

Please don't say we were designed to praise or worship god. that just makes god sound like some sort of egomaniac who needs constant attention so he created an army of robots to give him that attention.

....its just really upsetting to me. half of the questions i select to read are bashing christianity on purpose to get some attention. plus it seems that 75% of answers to a religion question regarding God are negative. and normally any answer to a question that does give serious advice is given a thumbs down. dont ppl have anything else better to do that go out of their way and be immature about ppl who do care about their faith? this is getting ridiculous....anyone out there agree with me? and for those who are bashing, what's ur excuse??

If there is original sin, can you prove me wrong by showing me biblical scriptures mentioning it?

you guys are all into that born again thing. . .we do need to be born again, since Jesus said that to a guy named Nicodemus. But if you tell me i have to be born again to enter the kingdom of God, i can tell you that you have to sell everything and give it to the poor, because Jesus said that to one guy too. . . but i guess thats why God invented highlighters, so we can highlight what we like and ignore the rest-Rich Mullens
